It’s nice, but I don’t think it’s Art.
I’ve just been to see it this morning. I was prepared to be really emotionally moved but I have to say I preferred the photos. My tips would be to avoid the crowds who have mainly come for other things, and that it’s mainly to the west of The Tower so better to go in the afternoon or evening for the best light. They still seemed to be putting out poppies so maybe there’s a lot to come. It’s still lovely, though.
Yes, there’ll be people placing poppies for a while yet… The installation’s there until Nov.
I went to the Tower in 1951; all I remember is the smell. My mother suggested that History Did Smell, which seemed to me pretty interesting. “Mummy, are people on the underground history too?”
Does it still smell?
