There is no such thing as “excessive” consumerism. I’m not even sure there is such a thing as “consumerism”.
They are bribing us with our own money?

I have a large pile of bricks that I suddenly need to recycle, a few each week.
Can you just buy empty plastic cartons? I think that’s what I would spend my £5 on.
Well I’m now just jealous on two counts:
1) we have alternate fortnightly collections
2) we’re being punished for being good recyclers by having our landfill bin reduced in size by half…
