Timmy elsewhere

At the ASI.

Bit odd of The Guardian to be arguing against council housing and in favour of private property but there we are.

  1. I’m not exactly breathless in anticipation of Keith’s invaluable insights in to housing policy but it should be amusing.

  2. Hmmm. Chakrobatty probably being misleading here. There are also 40 shared ownership units, as requested by existing residents, and no one is being forced off the estate.

Can’t find the planning permission though.

Guardian and friends shitstirring as per.

Hopefully Randy Brandy will be on this, so there’ll be some fun.

  3. I hate to disappoint you SE, but my muse has deserted me on this one. Evolutionary biology has little to say on this subject.

  4. Chakrabortty omits to mention that the alternative to the Council’s plan was demolition which would have redsuced the number of council flats to zero.

No, the _proposed_ alternative. It’s a standard part of the process when you have corrupt CPOs being implemented. Obviously, a property that’s going to be demolished is worth a lot less when you compulsorily purchase it.

  6. “one of the most famous landmarks in east London”

    Bollocks!

“A couple of anonymous ugly tower blocks in east London” would be correct.
