Miss Jacinto is now using her story to campaign against sexual slavery, and warn politicians against turning a blind eye. Sex trafficking is believed to account for 80 per cent of the world’s 20 million to 30 million “modern-day slaves”.

Does sex slavery happen? Yup. Foully, evilly, it does.

Is it happening to 16 to 24 million people right now?

Nope, no way.

Karla Jacinto, now 23, was forced to have sex with 30 men a day during her four-year ordeal.

Just no way at all.

24 million having 30 clients a day is 24 million having 900 clients a month. That’s 21 billion uses of a sex slave per month. Rapes of a sex slave a month. There’s around 3 billion adult males on the planet. On average each adult male is raping a sex slave 7 times a month.

It’s not just that this doesn’t describe this world we live in it also doesn’t describe anything in this universe we inhabit.

Try this another way: 30 punters a day? No, outside a military brothel at the frontline there’s just not going to be a willing punter every 30 minutes for 14 hours of the day. Just doesn’t happen that way.

If you read things that hookers say on forums, there’s a lot about how for a lot of them it’s still worth it, despite the fact that there’s a lot of downtime. If you get £100/hr, you can then have an hour between clients and make equivalent £50/hr.

I seriously doubt that 80% of slavery is about sex, because that requires interaction with strangers. I suspect that most sex slavery is of the “woman serving one man” variety rather than women working as prostitutes and that there’s a lot more slavery with domestic workers.

I’m sorry, but the number of men who want a prepubescent girl who is crying is tiny. Most men want a girl who can fake being into them. If there’s one thing I’ve learnt about the police across the world, they’ll happily be corrupt when it comes to stupid government laws against free trade, but there’s no evidence of US or western police forces involved in taking bungs from child rapists.

The reason this story works is that it’s the picture that people want to believe. That what men want is just a fleshy hole, and that men don’t care about the age or willingness of that fleshy hole. And yes, a few do. But most men would rather go next door to the 21 year old.

  2. “Story” appears to be the operative word.

If you take all the numbers given as gospel, at £50 a bonk this would be a £16 trillion p.a. market.

    Yeah, right.

  3. I’d imagine they have so many definitions of slavery that, for instance, those Filipino hookers working in the Wanchai girly bars will be considered slaves. They’ve signed contracts with the bars to work there for certain periods and they will face some financial penalty should they quit before the contract is up.

  4. Trafficking/Sex Slavery ™ is all a load of bollocks peddled by feminism, the left and social activist types. There is a lot of money in the caper tho’. Not money for pimps but literally billions for the bullshiters who are getting large sums from taxpayers and ill-informed charity givers to “battle” against this non-existent set of evils.

See “The Honest Courtesan” blog for a million facts and references to confirm the totally corrupt and bogus nature of the anti-sex crusaders and their claims.

  5. Perhaps I’m naiive, but is 30 clients a day even possible? I’d have thought a few days of that and you’d be in a world of hurt, fanny-wise.

  6. The figures need a sense check by someone with no axe to grind, no “skin in the game” so to speak and a expertise in statistical analysis of illegal activities. I speak, for example, of Professor Richard Murphy.

I imagine on the evidence of his other work, we would know that the present estimates are laughably low and in fact there are in the order of 25 million sex slaves in the UK alone, all of whom are copulating 50 times a day.

  7. A German submariner I knew says they used to go several at a time because you got a discount that way. From the whore’s perspective it’s time that’s money, and mechanically speaking, with a bit of practice you can probably get five guys off in the time one would take.

So I guess it is possible, even if the extrapolation is still wildly, orders of magnitude, beyond plausibility. Multiply the maximum possible number of clients per day by the number of women who have ever once had sex for money and assume all of the latter were working under duress.

  8. ““I was forced to serve every kind of fetish imaginable to more than 40,000 clients,”
And not a single one of them ever returned for seconds?
Not much good were you luv?
Beats me why they kept you on.

  9. Bloke no Longer in Austria

    BiG

Of course that sort of goings-on would never happen in Austria.

They don’t have any submarines !
    (boom boom)

  10. So Much For Subtlety

Bloke no Longer in Austria – “They don’t have any submarines !”

Are you sure? They do have naval captains after all

(Not that I watched the Sound of Music, or at least if I did, I didn’t enjoy it)

John miller – “Is there a support (!) group for male prostitutes for whom 30 a day is not an option.”

What makes you think that is not an option? The AIDS crisis turned up men in places like San Francisco who were notching up seriously large numbers of partners.

  11. Interesting to try to do it the other way round. Work out the number of sex slaves from vaguely sensible estimates of possible demand.

Assume 10% of world male’s use a sex slave once a week (still presumably a gross over-estimate) that’s 350 million rapes per week. Assume each sex slave services ten a day, 6 days a week i.e. 60 per week. That gives you about 6 million sex slaves.

Assume 5% use a sex slave once every 2 weeks and still assume a sex slave services 60 a week and you get 1.5 million sex slaves.

    etc.
