We’re Still Measuring The Digital Economy All Wrong: No Way Is Facebook Worth $10 Per User

  1. On Facebook being only “worth” $10 per user in GDP (because that is the only monetary revenue), isn’t part of the problem what we mean by “user”?

Yes, it’s worth much more than that to the very committed, regular users, but there will be others who signed up and used it once, for whom its annual value is zero. There will be others who use it a bit but for whom ten bucks a year is probably about right.

Like a Democrat politician on election day, Facebook are probably even counting some users who are dead (I don’t know how they get cleared off).

The relative proportions of those will affect the value.
