Snigger

Not going to happen:

When asked about appointing President Obama to the Supreme Court at a campaign event in Iowa, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said “nobody has ever suggested that to me…I love that.”

1) He’s not got the judicial chops for it.

2) There’s far too much money to be made as an ex-President giving speeches. Justices are severely restricted on outside earnings.

  1. So Much For Subtlety

I would normally support Cruz. But I hope he doesn’t make it to the White House but whoever does, does a deal – Cruz to the Supreme Court.

A much better appointment than Obama. Who not only does not have the chops for it but also for some reason gave up his law licence. As did Michelle or at least she voluntarily suspended hers.

  2. “Justices are severely restricted on outside earnings.”

    They are at the moment.

But if the septics are dumb enough to put a turd like Killery in then the rules –for the slime at the top–will flow and run like melting butter under a blow-lamp.

“I was going to ask “When was the last person elected to the US Supreme Court without having been a judge before?” but the answer is 2010.”

That would be Kagan, an Obama political appointment, so not a very good advertisement for the practice.

But there have been plenty of better examples. William Rehnquist was a good Chief Justice (nominated to the Court by Nixon and as Chief by Reagan) Jackson, a Roosevelt nominee, didn’t even have a law degree but was a success as a Supreme Court justice.

  4. William Howard Taft was mucher happier Supreme Court Justice than he was as President. He was appointed to the bench after his presidential term was served.

I don’t foresee Mr I got a pen and phone who treats law and Constitution as a mere formalities to get nominated.

  5. Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar II also became a Supreme Court judge without having been a regular judge beforehand, but he’s only worth mentioning for his name.
