The solution in Alberta

  1. I had a friend who bought 3 houses in Ft. McM just before the oil boom. He made a fortune renting them out to oil workers. Recently, I suppose that he was less fortunate with the cutbacks, but now I suppose he gets the insurance monies if the house gets burned down.

Not a bad ROI plus he will still have the land at the end.

  2. Rather an extreme way to jack up oil prices – could they not have just jawboned the price higher again by announcing another OPEC meeting?

Still, I suppose all this damage will create some jobs.

And jobs are are BENEFIT, right Tim?
