Difficult to work out why

A gunman opened fire inside Venezuela’s central bank on Monday, wounding two guards before he was shot dead by security officers, according to two sources, in the latest violent episode to shake the country.

“He wounded two guards, fortunately they are stable and are currently in a clinic,” Merentes told journalists, adding that the shooter’s motives were unclear and an investigation was under way.

Obviously not an attempt at robbery as in Venezuela the central bank is the one place that doesn’t have any money.

  1. Perhaps the culture of hate promoted by the Government against capitalists, bankers and in fact just about everyone drove him to it?

Odd tone to that article, for the Guardian. Normally they would be trumpeting that poverty causes crime. No mention of it here. Surely not because it is a disastrous Socialist shit-tip?

Given that we’ve been repeatedly told Venezuela’s socialist perfection, maybe he was trying to make a deposit.

  3. ‘wounding two guards before he was shot dead by security officers’

Odd. What differentiates security officers from guards? Security officers don’t get shot? Security officers have guns? The writer was taught not to repeat words?

  4. Wouldn’t a better target be the toilet paper factory?

Perhaps he tried there first only to find it empty. The next logical place to look when you need to wipe your ass is a Venezuelan bank.
