Now wouldn’t this be fun!

A divided Republican party: Donald or Ivanka Trump for president?

No, I don’t mean Ivanka this time around. But wouldn’t it be fun if Ivanka were the first female President. And that Hillary were still here to fume about it when it happens?

Actually, wouldn’t it just be fabulous fun if the first female Pres were a Republican. No doubt to be decried as the wrong sort of woman but still….

  1. If only that great and good woman Condoleeza Rice could have been persuaded to run. She has an eye that can open an oyster at fifty yards and stands no nonsense from anyone!

  2. @Oswald

Is it a rumour, or wasn’t Rice a girlfriend of Jasper Carrott’s at one point?

Or have I fallen for a “Bob Holness played sax on Baker Street’ thing?

  3. Any caper which involves trump becoming president is not really very fun.

Perhaps, but he is very much a necessary precondition for the reformation of both the Republican and Democratic parties. And for those who choose to write him off as a buffoon, I’d suggest you remember the old David Bowie verse:

Watch that man! Oh honey, watch that man… He talks like a jerk but he could eat you with a fork and spoon.

Watch that man! Oh honey, watch that man… He walks like a jerk but he’s only taking care of the room

I’m not a Donald Man by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m not going to fall into the trap that everyone else has walked into… I’m not going to underestimate him.

False. It’s not end of amusement to watch people like you curl your nose up, knowing your condescension is what elected Trump to begin with.

  5. Also, my interpretation of both Brexit and The Donald is that they are symptom of the 20th century coming to an end, politically.

john square: everyone knows that Holness/Baker Street thing is a myth. It was Dark Side of the Moon where he played sax.
