Just realised that one of he Indian stock market indices is called “Nifty”
Well done that man, well done indeed.
The NIFTY 50 index is National Stock Exchange of India’s benchmark stock market index for Indian equity market
Obviously, National and Fifty. But screams of joy when whoever it was realised how to create the acronym don’t you think?
And a “nifty” is, of course, a fifty.
You don’t think it could be an allusion to the old “Nifty Fifty” of Wall St?
And I thought a nifty fifty was a rather small Honda motorcycle.
The nifty fifty was a term for 50 or so blue chip stocks on the S&P500 back in the 60’s that people said were worth any price you paid for them
