Hillary Clinton had her concession speech prepared – she just never thought she’d need to read it out loud.
And when the moment came early today to admit that her lifelong dream of becoming America’s first woman president had been dashed, she simply couldn’t face the world.
The devastated Democratic candidate remained locked in her New York hotel room as it became clear that her glass ceiling had come crashing down around her.
Doesn’t bode well for how she would have acted in office, does it?
Maybe she was incapacitated? Let’s ask The Verve: “Now the drugs don’t work…”
And people say Trump has no self-control.
Is there any reason left for Bill to pretend to be married to her now?
That health/incapacity thing was bullshit from the start. The only thing wrong with Hillary tonight is a severely lacerated ego. That’s enough to be fatal with her though.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
‘My name is Hillarydias, queen of kings.
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’
She’s no Maggie Thatcher, that’s for sure.
as it became clear that her glass ceiling had come crashing down around her.
Glass ceiling? Rolls eyes. Of course, the Patriarchy, AGAIN.
It’s fucking hilarious. The most establishment of Establishment candidates against the Maverick, but the establishment candidate lost because the establishment prevented a woman from being President.
TISteve: Blessed be Her name.
Just love it so, so much, the evil witch bitch is not big enough to concede defeat because she was so convinced that she was going to get what she believed was her right. Spend the rest of your life as a total failure with the philandering prick of a husband you tolerated in pursuit of your dreams, you odious cow. At least you’ll have the millions you corruptly acquired through the Clinton Foundation to console you.
but Trump is the touchy and unstable one, riiiiiiiight?
Worrying.
Not having conceded implies there might be a Plan B swinging into action?
“The Florida voting machines were hacked by Putin”?
Matthew L: I think she’s seriously ill and will be dead by 2018.
“The devastated Democratic candidate remained locked in her New York hotel room as it became clear that her glass ceiling had come crashing down around her.”
It is likely a good idea for her to get some practice at being locked in rooms.
@Mr Ecks: LOL!
Sounds like she wasn’t up to that difficult 3am call after all

Astounding to see how people turn to the people who called it wrong to know why they got it wrong.
The Dilbert man has a nice post about Clinton’s health. Either you believe she’s ill or you don’t. The evidence is inconclusive.
TLDR: If you’re primed to believe she’s ill, this video of Hillary walking unsteadily will only confirm that belief. If you’re not predisposed to believe she’s ill, the video shows her walking normally (for someone who has just been woken up at 3am).
BiCR: “I think she’s seriously ill and will be dead by 2018”. I dunno about 2018, but seriously ill sounds awfully likely to me. And I don’t suppose that drowning her sorrows will do her any good.
Get your popcorn on! Concession speech coming in about 5 minutes.
..a word like Schadenfreude
We could always invent our own, of course.
Hillarity, with L×2 would be pretty much an off-the-peg solution.
Drat, it’s been pushed back an hour.
I’d be rather anxious in her position, and I wouldn’t be the only one. That Foundation of hers accepted millions of donations from various arab billionaires over the years, and they were not exactly scrupulous about declaring it all. Those donors aren’t going to get their quid pro quo now. Plus the tales of what some of those millions were actually used for. Then there’s the very strange behaviour of the head of the FBI, who must be the loneliest bloke in the world this morning. Finally the most improper collusion between Bill, and the Attorney General on an airstrip while Hilary was under investigation.
If it is true that the President can’t pardon someone who hasn’t been charged then it may still be that Comey was a coward trying to be brave. His re-opening of the case certainly helped Trump –as did the pathetically obvious “She’s innocent again” cover-up number two.
Who knows what pressure was applied.
Lynch and Obama need to be dragged down also. They were in the Clinton/Democrat capers like 3d bits in a Christmas pud.
Loving the Bill Clinton line about Corbyn being the “maddest person in the room”
I think Comey reopened the investigation and then shut it down so transparently obviously in order to send a clear message to the electorate about the truth of the matter whilst technically honouring whatever dodgy agreement he’d been backed into making with the Clintons.

The “glass ceiling” thing makes no sense. If it came crashing down around her, that must mean it’s no longer blocking her way, right?
Its pure retreat into miserable identity politics, the place they find comfortable and warm.
Squander Two, I was thinking the same. And if the media can’t keep its victim metaphors straight…
@S2, NielsR, I’m not so sure. His neck is now very well and truly on the block. Whereas had the presidency and the House gone Dem, he’d have been off the hook.
I’m not sure.
