Math is hard said Barbie

Donald Trump’s election reveals that we are two nations
The divides are not simply class. They are also culture, and by extension race, gender and ethnicity.

We are divided by class, that’s two nations, by culture, that’s four, by race, that’s 8 (assuming only two of each), by gender that’s 16 and ethnicity that’s 32 nations.

Assuming that gender is only binary not LGBTQQIWTF as well.

  1. “The divides are not simply class. They are also culture, and by extension race, gender and ethnicity.”

Isn’t that the point of identity politics?

  2. Bloke in North Dorset

That’s a rather long winded way of saying: “There are 2 nations, the good one full of people like me, and the rest”.

  3. Nah, it’s straight white men versus everyone else.

Just don’t mention the Muslim bloke who shot all those gay latinos in Orlando earlier this year.

  4. Divides are man made and exploited for personal gain. They always were and always will be, until that happy day when people wise up.

  5. Let them think it was just uneducated white males.

    1) It wasn’t, and so they’ll keep on losing

    2) The left, in the US, the UK and elsewhere is pretty close to declaring all out war on the working class. It’s going to absolutely fucking hilarious.

  6. Direct link:

‘Unless Americans find a way to close the divide that has made us two nations, we may end up not having a nation at all. There is no restoring even a semblance of unity without first understanding the gulf that separates us.’

See, unity is everything. You must sacrifice your hopes and aspirations for unity. Give up your opposition; resistance is futile.

Unity is when everyone accepts their positions.

  7. James O’Brien hilarious every morning trying to put his finger on the problem, while also making sure to look down on and insult those who are part of the problem as much as possible, because their beliefs are not compatible with the left as it exists.

Apparently these wrong voters are at best misinformed about mass immigration or just angry about economic conditions and needing more socialism so that they don’t blame scapegoats. At worst it all boils down to low IQ, racism and pure white person/male evil. Lol

I think declaration of war on the working class by the left has actually happened now. The victory of Trump has been a gift in this respect. Unfortunately for the left, they don’t understand that without the working class they amount to about 2% of the population.

  8. ‘After Donald Trump victory, Oregonians submit ballot proposal to secede from the union’

    A really good idea

  9. > Oregonians submit ballot proposal to secede from the union

It’s as if handing over more powers from individual states to a federal government isn’t a good idea. But Brexit was bad, how can Calexit or Oregonexit be good? Rational thinking just doesn’t work on the Left, does it?

  10. GC – re Oregon link

“Trejbal said that joining forces with other states … is “a viable way to go forward.”

These states, he said, “could all get together and form a nation that uphold the values that we share.”

Ah bless – The United Snowflakes?

GC – Where do I send money to help them? California, too?

Is this what we are looking for:

‘Just don’t mention the Muslim bloke who shot all those gay latinos in Orlando earlier this year.’

It’s like it never happened, any comment regarding this horrific act is both censured and censored.

Closet homosexual guns down innocent people because his crazy religious ideology made him do it.

And they wonder why people vote Trump when you are not allowed to tell it like it is.

  12. Edit? Should be left

According to article the main problems for the left are

-calling everyone racist all the time
    -flirting with identity politics
    -mocking poor white people
    -demonising conventional conservatives
    -flawed candidate
    -all the political correctness talk
    -all the damn celebrity endorsements

Sounds like the author would like this thread

  13. Bloke in Costa Rica

Taking the Cartesian product of the number of n different categories (i.e. the set of n-tuples) is only valid if all the categories are independent.

  14. Which is why trying to run the country from the center is fething stupid.

We simply do not have the government technology to do so on the scale of 310 million+ people. Either devolve power back to the states or split the nation up officially.

IMO we should be doing the *exact opposite* of what the EU is trying to accomplish.
