Islamist nutters don’t scare me!

It is deeply upsetting that people have died and been injured today. But we need to remember how important it is that our democracy survives all challenges. That is why I, like so many others, will be at Westminster again soon.

Yes, despite the dangers Spud will soldier on!

  1. He’ll be there, having his say, probably trying to scupper Brexit, without ever chasing a vote.

    Democracy.

  2. It was all about him. Our police serve and die protecting PROFESSOR RICHARD MURPHY.

Dachau was all about him as well.

  3. Ironman ,

Dachau was an early example of the Courageous State protecting itself against those who dare to challenge the orthodoxy .

  4. I suppose there is something to admire about Richard Murphy. He has built a career that involves him being paid to nothing of any real consequence.

Imagine what would happen if he had a job that gave him some real power….

  5. I seem to remember him cowering (and going to two police forces about) the “terrorist threat” of a Manx DJ taking the piss of him.

  6. I wonder if Murphy’s frequent visits to the Westminster area are to identify a suitable place where the posthumous statue of him should be erected, at public expense.

  7. BraveFart: Only one statue? For the man who survived Dachau, neoliberal sophists and the terrorist attacks? Shame on you.

The Kim Kardashian of Left-wing politics.

  9. What an ocean-going cunt the man is. What a Death Star sized pile of stupid, self-satisfied horseshit. Fuck me. Did anything ever happen or did the Manx cops roll their eyes and fuck him off?

  10. I find myself in the uncomfortable position of defending Murphy, but it’s really not on for a DJ to issue death threats, even in jest.

Perhaps someone will break into his hotel room in Paris and steal the manuscript for his next book.

If you can assure me that such a statue will be erected without delay, I would be happy to contribute.

  12. Jack Hughes, it is likely to be rather costly.

Although one might expect a representation of the physical Murphy to be normal statue sized – ie just a big bigger than actual size, any statue of Murphy would also have to represent the man’s ego, which is likely to be fvcking massive, probably larger than the Palace of Westminster itself to be a true Murphy likeness.

  13. @Andrew M – the DJ didn’t ‘issue’ any ‘death threats’, in jest or otherwise, he said he was ‘bored of it (Murphy’s bullshit) to the point where we wish there was a wet ops department in the government that could go and take him out.’

Do you really want to defend the twat for contacting the police over that?

  14. @Jack Hughes

“If you can assure me that such a statue will be erected without delay, I would be happy to contribute.”

    DEATH THREAT!!!!!!!

  15. If you can assure me that such a statue will be erected without delay, I would be happy to contribute.

We could insist that it be impregnated with birdseed to ensure that it is covered in pigeon shit within the week.

  16. Jesus – I hadn’t seen that either. To be fair, I don’t visit the twat’s blog. Is there a more puffed-up, preening, self-regarding bellend in the entire nation?

  17. I live the way he makes every outrage about himself. I suppose there is a kind of heroism in his dogged determination not to be cowed by terrorist acts not directed at him and instead to carry on his task of self-ridicule

  18. A source at the Adam Smith Institute has made this off-guard comment: “Thank fuck it wasn’t an Uber driver”

  19. Bloke in North Dorset

Any statue that would be acceptable to Spud’s ego would probably need to be next to, but higher than, Mandela or replacing Churchill.

  20. Contest time: which is stupider?

‘But we need to remember how important it is that our democracy survives all challenges.’

Not this, it doesn’t even have any meaning.

“This act of terror was not an act of faith. It was a perversion; a warped ideology, which leads to an act of terrorism like that and it will not prevail.”

This. By the PM. A Muslim acting on the teachings of the Quran, not a perversion. The perversion is the PM’s. It will prevail until the PM et al face reality.

Murphy’s and May’s ramblings remind me of Chief Dan George:

  21. With regard to the “Manx DJ” affair, I can only repost the comment I posted on Mr Murphy’s blog at the time:

Mr Murphy, I’m sorry but I don’t for a moment believe that you are a man in fear of his life. If I did, then I would back you to the full, as I am a great believer in Voltaire’s Dictum and would not accept anyone being threatened merely for stating their views, however much I may disagree with them.

However, I suspect you know full well that the comments were merely a silly joke in bad taste and are attempting to pull a stunt here. In overview, I presume you’re hoping that your complaint will be rejected — which it will, not because of the Manx Police protecting the establishment, but because the comments were clearly not intended as a threat — in which case you will start claiming that the rule of law does not apply here.

Insofar as this plan goes, all is fair in love and war — except for one thing. There is an outside possibility that your complaint could be followed through, and a man could end up with a criminal record for cracking an inappropriate and unfunny joke. I suggest you examine your conscience closely and ask yourself whether this is an outcome you really want.

As for the poem you suggested, let me give you a tailored alternative:

“When they came for the people cracking tasteless jokes, I said something — I made the complaint that got them arrested.”

“That is why I, like so many others, will be at Westminster again soon.”

That’s the spirit that defeated the Boche. In the darkest days of the Blitz, all that stood between freedom and a thousand years of fascist tyranny was a few monomaniacal retired accountants.

What a fucking oaf. Any normal person who’d have typed that would have looked at the screen, blanched, shudderingly deleted it and then set fire to their computer to stop them doing it again.

“That is why I, like so many others, will be in the camp kommandant’s office in Dachau again soon.”

    There, fixed it for you.
