Choose your sides, let battle commence!

The Paris mayor, Anne Hidalgo, has called for a black feminist festival in the French capital to be banned, saying it was “prohibited to white people”.

The first edition of the Nyansapo Festival, due to run from 28-30 July at a cultural centre in Paris, bills itself as “an event rooted in black feminism, activism, and on (a) European scale”.

Four-fifths of the festival area will be set aside as a “non-mixed” space for black women, according to its website. Another space will be a “non-mixed” area for black people regardless of gender. Another space would be “open to all”.

The English version of the site does not use the word “non-mixed”, but “reserved”.

So, pig shit ignorant racists reviving apartheid by enforcing racial division? Brave fighters against oppression providing safe spaces?

  1. And their defence:

The cultural centre La Générale, where the event was to be hosted, and the collective Mwasi, which organised the event, said on Sunday they were the “target of a disinformation campaign and of ‘fake news’ orchestrated by the foulest far right”.

  2. Sounds very much like a plantation in Louisiana before the Civil War. Most of it for the nigguz with a few good white folks & their servants in the area round the big house.

Any cajun bands playing? I like cajun.

  3. So Much For Subtlety

I keep telling you they hate you. They really do.

But it is interesting to see the daughter or grand-daughter of Spanish Communists who resisted Franco facing up to them. I suppose that even though Le Pen lost, she won.

  4. “on (a) European scale”. Might not mean much to others but Saffers might have a wry smile at that.

  5. I’m pretty sure that President Mugabe could provide them with a White-free zone for their little festival. In fact, most of sub-Saharan Africa is a wonderful example of the benefits of a White people-free existence.
Seriously though, I always baffled as to why black and brown people, who claim to be oppressed and discriminated against by White people, living in majority White countries don’t just move somewhere less White – end of problem!

  7. Banned? – Not the right attitude i don’t think.
Organisers prosecuted for breaching a specific law that you can point to which says don’t do xyz after they have done xyz.

  8. I note that this feminist mayor is complaining about racial segregation, but not the sexual segregation. Is it ok then for there to be women only sections? Is she only going to complain about her ox being gored?

  9. ‘Paris mayor demands black feminist festival’

I swear I love this combo victim groups. How about a festival for the unborn, ethnic, gay, handicapped whales?

  10. What is this shit? If it’s a private gig then they can invite anyone they like, and exclude anyone they don’t. They can even have a sort of blackness geiger counter cum photobooth for all I care.
Just pay rent for the hall.

  11. Of course Anne Hidalgo is being branded a racist for opposing a racially segregated event. At least in France she seems to be getting quite a lot of support for her stance.

In the US, biology professor Bret Weinstein was threatened by students and called upon to resign just for showing up at work on a ‘day of absence’, where ‘anti-racists’ demanded a whitey free college. The response to students taking over the campus and accosting a professor was to call off the campus police and give in to most of their demands.

    His statement:

‘On a college campus, one’s right to speak — or to be — must never be based on skin color.’

is being labelled an example of ‘colour blind racism’ by members of the SJW/#blacklivesmatter crowd. It’s being used to argue that he must be teaching racism in his biology classes. It remains to be seen whether he will keep his job.

  12. Time to give segregation another chance? We’ll have to buy more drinking fountains, but it might be worth it.

  13. Gamecock – go read up on “intersectionality”, it’s quite the thing in socially just circles these days. You may want to get hold of a spoon before you do this, because you’re likely to want to gouge your own eyes out after reading a couple of pages about the subject.

  14. The BBC article was interesting. If it had been in London it would have been full SJW condemnation of the Mayor and defence of the festival. But in fact it had two or three quotes from organisations criticising the event and one in favour stuck at the end, which is a good indication of what the writer thinks. The BBC really does apply different standards on the French.

  15. Kendall – today’s mainstream lunacy was campus lunacy twenty years ago. Expect this to be the ‘consensus’ in a decade or two time, assuming the natives haven’t risen up and burned every university to the ground in the meantime.

  16. If events like this go ahead, immediately after, events for white men should be organised using identical language, e.g.:

The first edition of the Wisdom Knot Festival, due to run from 28-30 July at a cultural centre in Paris, bills itself as “an event rooted in white machismo and chivalry on a European scale.

Four-fifths of the festival area will be set aside as a “non-mixed” space for white men, according to its website. Another space will be a “non-mixed” area for white people regardless of gender. Another space would be “open to all”.

    bif,

If it’s a private party in a private building I agree, but if it’s a public owned building then no, it shouldn’t be allowed.

    Rob,

The mayor of London is a RoPer, it would tie SJWs in knots if it had been proposed here and he’d opposed it.

  18. BiND

No, the mayor of Paris does not own the gaff, the stupid cow just administrates it.

It’s just like a football crowd. Some risk of hooliganism from LGBT nutjobs, but a few plod would sort it.

  19. No, the mayor of Paris does not own the gaff, the stupid cow just administrates it.

So it’s a public building, and not private property, then? In which case, she has a point.
