The not very good spy

When Reality Winner got out of the US air force last December, she was despondent.

The 25-year-old vegan yoga enthusiast, who enjoyed adopting abandoned pets and sending shoeboxes full of gifts to Afghan children, was repulsed by the US president-elect, her polar opposite.

A passionate environmentalist, Winner grew heavy-hearted as Donald Trump quickly gave the go-ahead for construction of the controversial Keystone XL and Dakota Access oil pipelines.

“I’m losing my mind,” she wrote in a Facebook post on 9 February. “He’s lying. He’s blatantly lying.”

As you read on you find that she was actually dobbed in by The Intercept. Not on purpose, or at least not as far as anyone knows. But by incredibly bad trade craft. They showed the NSA a copy of the document, he doc which had the unique identifying numbers on it which show which printer it came from.

Sheesh. Way to protect your sources, eh?

As for Reality herself, language specialist on intercepts. Right languages, easy to get a job. But zero tradecraft herself either. Like, printing from her own printer and sending a hard copy with those dots…..

  1. So Much For Subtlety

So I want to know whether Dave thinks everyone on this thread is anti-Semitic. Seeing as how she may well be, you know, Jewish. And accusing Jews of spying for the enemy and hating America is such a long-standing anti-semitic trope.

Speaking of which the BBC was just showing Julius Rosenberg’s son defending his parents, insisting the trial was a fraud and claiming his father had no involvement in nuclear matters at all.

  2. There is an opportunity for Trump in this matter.

First of all throw the book at her. Life–meaning life–imprisonment and since she is ugly they can claim she is a trannie and should be sent to a male supermax jail. That last would be for her ears alone but given the USA’s vindictive “justice” system I’m sure she’d believe it.

Then make the offer. Instead of jail she gets released into thr custody of the White House etc. No jail, no decades of misery and terror. Instead she has a change of heart and becomes America’s Anti-socialist Ambassador. No grim cells. Instead she travels the world in political style luxury, visiting the sites of socialist atrocities and talking with survivors of leftist evil. All on camera and in the glare of full publicity.

China and North Korea are obv not available but there are legions of places she can visit and lots of victims she can talk to. They can make her look as attractive as possible and give huge publicity to her and the endless socialist crimes she is on a fact-finding tour to uncover.

What a colossal black-eye for the Antifa scum. One of their own denouncing their vile creed on a worldwide expedition to uncover the truly evil skull behind their lying faces.

I’m sure the woman would prefer that to the alternative–rotting the rest of her life–and if she has any nostalgia for her former gang the parole can be revoked. If she does her best then a full pardon after a few years of helping the cause of freedom instead of trying to destroy it.

A win/win for everybody except the scum of the left. And who cares about them.

  3. The Meissen Bison

Fred: Are you sure it isn’t a racehorse?

Yes, could be the hero of a Dick Francis novel, with dope in the plot.

  4. > a name too implausible for fiction

Other sources report that she changed her name to Reality; her birth name was Sara.

Although judging by the photos, I half-expected her birth name to be Bob.

  5. I’ve noted that a gift for languages is not necessarily linked to high intelligence. Of course in her case it’s not linked to sanity either.

  6. Yeah, USAF linguists aren’t spies and don’t get trained in spy “tradecraft”. They are told repeatedly to keep their big mouths shut when out and about, but that doesn’t always work either.

“They are told repeatedly to keep their big mouths shut when out and about, but that doesn’t always work either.”

Same goes for Brits. We used to get some interesting company in the bars outside 9 Sig Regt (Radio) in Cyprus and 14 Sig Regt (EW) in Germany. No doubt a few of the locals had their wages supplemented as well.

  8. Well she wasn’t exactly a spy. Just a SJW who wanted to make a point. There are millions of them infiltrated into our government.
