Reminds me of the scene in the 1954 film The Maggie, where a cargo ship trying to sail out of the Clyde runs aground on a tunnel belonging to the Glasgow Subway.

When I visited Calcutta in December 1990, part of the underground was under construction using cut-and-cover. The bit that had been cut but not covered was full of water. I did wonder how they were going to finish the project. Now I know.
It would give a new meaning to “mind the doors”.
I think Disney World has that ride.
