Interesting that you should mention the frequency of male helping female here. I really think this has gone down. Giving a seat on a train is never done now. Women have campaigned for equality so now they have it and now they are finding out more directly what a male dominated society is like as men are more pushy and bigger when it comes to the rush for seats. Hence the “I’m pregnant” badges on the underground. Mind you this is also to differentiate the fat from the pregnant.

Wouldn’t that lend credence to the idea that its ‘built in’ to us and not to the idea that patriarchy is ‘just a power structure’?
