Molly Scott Cato?

  1. Ms. Scott Cato’s Wikipedia entry seems to be less emphatic about “professor of economics”:

before reading Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Oxford, where her stated areas of interest included “the politics of Latin America and international politics”. After working in the publishing industry, in 2001 she earned her Ph.D. from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth with a thesis on employment policy in the South Wales Valleys including research into the Tower Colliery workers’ co-operative.

Emphasis there seems to be on politics, rather than economics.

  2. before reading Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Oxford

Oh God, another one. An unending production line of people convinced they can run the country and who believe it’s their right to do so, coz they have a PPE degree from Oxford.

  3. She looks enough like him to be his sister. Jeez–isn’t life tough enough ?

I wonder if they…no. Mindbleach quick.

  4. Wiki says that Molly Scott Cato WAS, until her election as an MEP, Professor of “Strategy and Sustainability” at the “University” of Roehampton.
I am permanently blocked from TRUK because I have pointed out too many of Murphy’s errors (even when I made an inoffensive helpful comment I got a (less-rude-than-usual) “you’re banned” comment.
If anyone has access, perhaps he/she can inform the part-time “professor” that she is no longer a professor and never was a professor of economics.

  5. Has anyone read the wiki page on her “partner” Busby who seems to be selling “anti-radiation pills”?
Maybe he is just a loony “Green”? Or maybe he is a snake oil salesman?

  6. Scott Cato a professor of economics?

She can call herself anything she likes I suppose.

She is to economics what Dr Helen Caldicott is to nuclear physics.

She is a tiresome contributor to local papers across the West of England spouting annoying untruths – usually about wind power . Somebody at The Press Association loves her though as she gets regular syndicated pieces on their output.

  7. I see (thanks, Sam) she’s a professor of Green Economics. No doubt telling us all how our future economy will be powered by a mixture of unicorn tears and rocking-horse poo.

  8. “before reading Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Oxford, where her stated areas of interest included “the politics of Latin America and international politics””

Who cares what her stated areas of interest were? She was an undergraduate, FFS, and therefore knew next-to-nothing about anything.
