Splutter

Now it would appear that the New Zealand immigration service has added “sex work” (as prostitution is increasingly described) to the list of “employment skills” for those wishing to migrate. According to information on Immigration NZ’s (INZ) website, prostitution appears on the “skilled employment” list, but not the “skill shortage” list.

A Heinlein point comes o mind. Only on Earth could there be a shortage of what every woman possess an infinite supply of.

It is part of the normalization of prostitution. Just as gambling, abortion and divorce all went from being abhorrent to absolutely routine and acceptable, so is prostitution.

New Zealand is already a country that has threatened to sanction an unemployed girl if she refused to work in a brothel. Germany being another.

  2. They’re talking about skills, not just having (or even offering) the bits. What’s the saying; it’s not what you’ve got, it’s how you use it?

But if it is really about skills, there ought to be some sort of certification process. Must be an opportunity for a forward-thinking university there?

  3. They’ve got a right effing useless whore as PM so why wouldn’t they want to import more of them.

  4. “They’ve got a right effing useless whore as PM so why wouldn’t they want to import more of them.”

    Maybe, but still would

  5. Is there a single white country in the world that is not on a track to self-inflicted disaster?

  6. SMFS,

And quite right too – but only if she’s qualified. Being a single mother to several children by different fathers might be a qualification

“Can I see your degree in whoredom first, please?”
“Are you a member of the Chartered Institute Of Whores, or the Royal College of Whores? Full member? Can I see your CPD record please?”
“Do you have letters of recommendation from other clients?”
“Can I have a VAT receipt?”
“Is being a Labour MP really enough evidence of having worked as a whore? OK, of course it is.””

Why do we always talk of supply and demand? Surely it’s effective supply and effective demand that count.

  8. I’ve trying discussing effective supply and demand with the wife, but she says is just gives her a headache

  9. The commodity isn’t pussy, it’s the ability to willingly degrade themselves. And that is indeed in short supply.

  10. To be fair it is on the list as we use an Australian list that shows skills in short supply. However, given that you aren’t allowed to come to New Zealand to engage in “sex work”, they won’t issue you a visa even if you are a highly skilled whore if that is what you tell them you want to do (prostitution is legal, but only open to NZ citizens and permanent residents – anyone else involved will be in violation of their visa).

What is more shocking is that Australia is in short supply of women with negotiable morals!

  11. Tell me what is the top rugby-playing nation in the world and only then try to tell me that the Kiwis are a bunch of wussy wankers.

“The commodity isn’t pussy, it’s the ability to willingly degrade themselves. And that is indeed in short supply.”

After watching some YouTube, I just don’t find your statement credible.

  13. It’s amusing to see the “libertarian” and “fewer laws” and “government stay out of my life” types tie themselves in knots about prostitution.

Prostitution is known to be unstopped by laws. Making it illegal just adds another layer of corruption to public life, as most males really can’t be bothered with stopping it, while simultaneously giving the fun-hating Puritans a lever into politics.

Of course it’s immoral. So is usury, disrespecting your family etc, none of which are illegal. The number of evangelizing types whitetail against prostitution, only to be caught using whores suggests to me a large helping of double-standards around the issue.

Oddly, it’s almost a non-issue in NZ, because people there aren’t very puritan. The prevalence of prostitution hasn’t actually changed either. The fact there is a shortage of whores suggests the moral fabric of society hasn’t actually broken down.

    Laws don’t actually change morals.

Iran, the USSR, Francoist Spain: all tried from different angles to “improve” society with moral laws. All failed, as they always do.

  14. Richard,

“But if it is really about skills, there ought to be some sort of certification process. Must be an opportunity for a forward-thinking university there?”

    A Bachelor of Tarts?

  15. Prostitution is an outgrowth of the relationship between men and women. It reflects said relationship. And it is handy for those who don’t want their lives hedged in by women’s ownership bullshit. If that suits you –great . Why should those it doesn’t suit be hemmed in by it. Esp in an age where CM scum have loaded the dice even more in her favour.

As for the supposed “degradation” –if you believe that then you must believe that all sex is degrading. Marxist-feminist bullshit in short.

And I reckon that the vast majority of women have at least thought about being a prostitute at some point in their younger days. It is by far the most lucrative career for even a marginally attractive woman with the least effort.

Discrimination? I hope the Left are protesting about this restriction on immigrants.

Chester Draws – “It’s amusing to see the “libertarian” and “fewer laws” and “government stay out of my life” types tie themselves in knots about prostitution.”

Is it now? Well some of us are not libertarian types and in so far as we want fewer laws, that does not mean we want no laws. If legal prostitution was deemed morally acceptable to Saint Thomas Aquinas I am at least willing to consider it, but that does not mean it is not a topic for, at least, considerable regulation.

“Prostitution is known to be unstopped by laws.”

Is it now? I doubt that. But even if it were true, so are rape and murder.

    “Laws don’t actually change morals.”

That would be an astonishing statement if true. But it isn’t. Divorce, gambling and homosexuality used to be strongly disapproved of. Now they have been normalised. Something changed. The law for instance.

“Iran, the USSR, Francoist Spain: all tried from different angles to “improve” society with moral laws. All failed, as they always do.”

I think that it would be hard to argue that the USSR did not change Soviet society. Some times with laws.

Mr Ecks – “Prostitution is an outgrowth of the relationship between men and women. It reflects said relationship.”

It is. But does it? So does rape.

“As for the supposed “degradation” –if you believe that then you must believe that all sex is degrading. Marxist-feminist bullshit in short.”

It is rare that I am accused of being a Marxist or a feminist. But sex with random men for money does degrade women. As talking to a long-term prostitute will soon show – they are hardly sweet young things. Bitter and jaded are probably better ways to describe them. The chances of a woman forming a happy and successful marriage fall with each and every man she has sex with apart from her husband. So it clearly does have an impact.

  18. “As talking to a long-term prostitute will soon show – they are hardly sweet young things. Bitter and jaded are probably better ways to describe them. ”

True of vast numbers of older women–prossies or not. And not all women want or are suited for long term marriage. Nor are all men suited or care for the “Yes Dear, No Dear, Three Bags Full Dear” life style that you advocate SMFS.

  19. So Much For Subtlety

Mr Ecks – “True of vast numbers of older women–prossies or not. And not all women want or are suited for long term marriage. Nor are all men suited or care for the “Yes Dear, No Dear, Three Bags Full Dear” life style that you advocate SMFS.”

It is absurd to pretend I am arguing for a submissive husband. God knows I am on record about this any number of times. Not all men are suited to married life. It is pretty miserable by and large for a lot of people. Do it because of duty, social expectation and so on. Which is why Thomas Aquinas was willing to consider legal prostitution as the lesser of two evils. There is a sensible argument to be made for it.

However that does not change the fact that it is pretty bad for the character of the women who do it. Many older women may be pretty bad tempered too. But then a lot of people around here seem to be implying they were all on the Game in their days so it is no surprise.

  20. Tell me what is the top rugby-playing nation in the world and only then try to tell me that the Kiwis are a bunch of wussy wankers.

That’s a good point, but a few of them – led by TJ Perenara – have taken to virtue-signalling like crazy over Israel Folau’s comments about gays.

SMFS: Christianity is no defence for the West against anything. In fact it is a key piece in the destruction of the West. It is the same desert belief system that gave rise to Islam and Judaism and which seeks to lay waste to Europe.

  22. Re: Richard

Discrimination? I hope the Left are protesting about this restriction on immigrants.

Over here the socialists are more on the national side of the socialist scale; they want to restrict immigration so that working class Kiwis can have “good jobs and cheaper housing” (ignoring that the people who vote for them don’t want jobs and so they need immigrants to build the housing).

It is the Right Wing parties and voters that see the benefit in immigration. I guess this is due to our reasonably restrictive immigration laws meaning that you need to have useful skills and to pass language tests to come here – rather than the free-for-all that it sometimes seems Europe is!
