But of his other books I admit I rather liked Bone in the Throat.
Not, not really, a great novel, but certainly a decent enough page turner. And there’s much, as with KC, that strikes a chord as a description of a professional kitchen.

Well I haven’t, or any other book written about food.
I’ve not even heard of it far less read it.
Bone in the Throat sounds like a porn star’s autobiography.
KC was a hugely successful book. Suspect the behaviour in kitchens is markedly different these days.

I bet it isn’t. The same structural reasons for such behaviour still exist. So why would things have changed? People still like their meat well done no matter how many times they are told not to eat it that way.

+1 Not only have I never heard of the books, I’d never heard of the “famous” bloke author who died of the “famous” woman fashion designer who died.
Goes to show, fame & fortune does not equal happy.
Littlejohn nails it. Mum, brother & I were angry when Tesco did this last sunday – we were in in-store Costa.
