There will be no deafening indie music, no boozed-up moshing and definitely no queues for the urinals. There, will, however, be vaginal steaming, feminist debate, and a chance for contemplation in the sacred womb tent.
Make way for Women Fest, Britain’s first ever all-women festival, billed as an event of radical participation that aims to explore the “power and magic” that happens when women gather together, and the impact it can have on the wider world.
After a year of sexual politics dominated by women’s marches and the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements, the festival hopes to bring together 400 women on a farm outside Frome in Somerset in August.
Women only being just as much sex discrimination as men only?
Doubtless illegal but try getting some justice Tim.
While you are at that task contemplate the sense of fair play motivating the FFC’S “government” in charging alleged “crimes” 45 years old against British soldiers while noting the (not very) mysterious absence of any charges of “perverting the course of justice” arriving on the supposedly disgraced plate of one A. Saunders. Who some say was a creature of the FFC’s at the HO.
Surely men simply need to claim that they identify as a woman.
Most women I know who to to festivals really rather like the loud indie music; it’s rather the point of them going to them. (Those who don’t tend to want of rock…)
Men only is sexiest/patriarchy/etc but women only is fine because reasons.
Will the festival infrastructure be installed purely by women?
From the article, which in its later reaches becomes sublime parody, ticking just about every box the rollmop-scented ladies at the Guardian can devise:
Sooner or later someone had to come up with a way to exploit these silly moos — kudos to Jacout. Could be the start of a whole new industry, fleecing feminists and SJWs.
Anyway, let’s hope it pisses down with rain.
I doubt it is illegal, however, with only 150 out of 30 million women in the UK signed up for it, it is unlikely to be of interest to anyone outside of The Guardian.
“vaginal steaming”? On second thoughts, I don’t think I want to know.
Has the Guardian reach peak Poe yet or have we got ever more of this crap coming.
On a similar theme the Economist has an article about a women only holiday resort in Finland and various women only clubs that are opening. Apparently this is to allow women to network, which strikes me as bizarre.
If there is a glass ceiling* then women need to network with men who are on their way up and also with men at the top. All they’re doing is creating some sort of business apartheid.
* For the avoidance of doubt I don’t think there is, the apparent glass ceiling is because people at the top are older and from an era when women didn’t start careers so the pool is quite small.
Did I read that all police leave had been cancelled for the duration?
Only getting that many women together in one place without any men to restrain them is sure to lead to plenty of trouble.
Some European music festivals have been cancelled due to the shall we say ‘hands-on’ activities of certain men of no particular appearance. I suspect that this could be an attempt to avoid accusations of racism by dehumanising all men instead of the actual perps.
A bit like airport security.
Who is going to put up their damn tent?
Women’s Fest? Is that a pavilion in Fantasy Land at the Magic Kingdom?
“Men have sacrificed and crippled themselves physically and emotionally to feed, house, and protect women and children. None of their pain or achievement is registered in feminist rhetoric, which portrays men as oppressive and callous exploiters.” – Camille Paglia
BiND: That gave me a WTF? moment too. It sounds seriously injurious, like steam cleaning the engine in a truck!
’Vaginal steaming, sometimes shortened to V-steaming, and also known as yoni steaming, is an alternative health treatment whereby a woman squats or sits over steaming water containing herbs such as mugwort, rosemary, wormwood and basil.’
Nope. Me neither.
Illegal? Nope. Same as for High Tea parties where Gents are ….not encouraged… tp show up.
There’s actually quite a few of those things all over Europe nowadays, following the rise of neopaganism and all that. And there are several who are specific for women, because they heavily focus on the Female Divine and that stuff. Not really interesting to blokes.
Most of that type event are actually mixed, with about equal attention paid to the Male Spirit. Sweat lodges, chanting, spirit dances, that sort of thing.
And with all that the squeekie mattresses at night…
Spending a over a decade working part-time for an event crewing agency gets you places.. 😉
Shouldn’t that be gall & wormwood rather?
The thrill of sitting on a pot of steaming water infused with wormwood is probably going to inspire Rocco
Julia – I can understand Rosemary, but I guess Basil is pre-op?
“* For the avoidance of doubt I don’t think there is, the apparent glass ceiling is because people at the top are older and from an era when women didn’t start careers so the pool is quite small.”
Also, women just don’t take risks like men do, aren’t obsessive like men are and have a lower threshold for disgust as men. A lot of huge tech companies are full of male management because a lot of them joined early and did a good job. If you’re head of customer services when you’ve got a handful of customers and keep doing a good job when you hit 10,000 or a million customers, no-one is going to fire you.
“the festival hopes to bring together 400 [SJW] women on a [pig] farm outside Frome in Somerset” to cohabit with and “feed” the pigs.
Jenson Button is rallying fans to race to watch this new reality TV show live as it consumes “Oh Jeremy” Glastonbury refugees.

Thanks, love, but I’ll take a mouthful of 3 day old tuna flavour over that.
Pcar: With apologies to the late great Gordon Rollings
“!’m Bayleaf I’m the gardiner,
I work from early morn,
Just a’tidying the dykes,
and steaming of their lawns.”
Made me laugh, cheers
/applause for Mr Ecks
Gotta love the self-indulgent, gynocentric fripperies. I’m sure that will have a real impact on… Something?
“And when you’re [an SJW] they let you do it. You can do anything.”
*Whatever you want.”
” Grab them by the [womb] . You can do anything.”
