Not politically correct but true

Women should pay higher taxes and gain lower pensions:

Middle-aged women face a health timebomb and will need 5½ years more care than men after they hit 65, a study has warned.

Women now in their 50s will spend an average of 12½ years at the end of their lives depending on carers to support their daily needs, researchers predict, as growing numbers live with multiple illnesses.

If women, as a group, are going to take more out of that welfare state then they should pay more in, no? Today’s strong and independent women do wish to stand up for themselves after all.

  1. I don’t get all this “women pay more boo hoo it’s unfair and sexist” shite anyway. Most women are in a family where the money is shared anyway. When my wife wastes a ton of money on some dumbass brand name soap or whatever it’s depriving me of things I might want.

  2. Gosh, an inadvertent admission by the Establishment media that people living longer is far more expensive to the State than people drinking or smoking and dying younger. The costs of treatment for those conditions is dwarfed by the money saved in pensions, income support and healthcare later in life. A bit of a callous observation but true.

We all know this, of course, but it is nice to see even oblique and accidental references to it slipping through the censorship.

  3. ‘New data shows that while women live longer than men, they will also require more care’

    They always need more care.

Which is why a sensible socialist would be campaigning for cheap beer and fags, legalised drugs and a fast food outlet on every street. Social insurance welfare systems only work when the proles die off reasonably young, so the ratio of inputs to outputs remains manageable. If you allow that to get out of whack then there’s only one result – eventually the whole system collapses, which is where we are close to now.

  5. “If women, as a group, are going to take more out of that welfare state then they should pay more in, no?”

If poor people, as a group, are going to take more out of that welfare state then they should pay more in, no?

  6. It’s funny how this story is framed as “It’s so inconvenient for women that men die earlier”. Reminds me of the ultimate New York Times headline: World to end tomorrow; women, minorities hit hardest.

  7. No, Niv is right, BUT it would be reasonable to expect that just a few of them would admit that they take more out of the pot than they put into it.

  8. Reminds me of the hoary old chestnut:

Q: Why do men die before their wives?

    A: Because they want to.

  9. if women bore children and children cared for their parents would it be such a problem?
Little need for migrants and hate laws too.

  10. We men should treat women with respect. I would never ask for women to pay higher taxes than men. They deserve to be treated well by men.

  11. @ Joey Vimsante
*Some* of them deserve to be treated well by men, just as *some* men deserve to be treated well by women.
