Didn’t they always?

School boys are making rape jokes in bid to score ‘lad points’, headteachers are warned

Why would the medium change boys?

School boys are using memes and social media to make rape jokes in a bid to score “lad points”, headteachers have been warned.

More than a third (36 per cent) of 11-18 year-old boys have shared racist or homophobic pictures, more than double the amount shared by their female peers, according to a poll of 20,000 children.

The survey, commissioned by the organisation Digital Awareness UK (DAUK) and Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC), found that four in ten boys see offensive memes daily.

The other 6 are better at hiding their tracks.

  1. Why does it seem more and more that, rather than viewing boys as boys, schools increasingly view boys as defective girls?

  2. What do they want boys to be like? How would they overcome the effects of peer pressure and pecking order to achieve that? Or I suppose they could kill them all except for the gay and trans.

  3. Without even resorting to a Disraelian dictum you know this is classic Bollocks

From whose perspective are the pictures ‘racist’ or ‘homophobic’ – Many Corbinite snowflakes would consider any picture of a black person ‘racist’ by its very definition. As Ecks says, while Cultural Marxism is permitted as an ideology and the adherent isn’t on a plane to Caracas or Venezuela then I’d take anything coming out from educational practitioners with a hefty pinch of salt

  4. Thanks for sharing this, Tim. The news is usually depressing, but once every hundred thousand years or so (when the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow) they give us a tantalising glimpse of hope for the next generation:

More than a third (36 per cent) of 11-18 year-old boys have shared racist or homophobic pictures

As the kids say, fuckin LOL 😀

    TEN THOUSAND POINTS TO SLYTHERIN!

  5. Which proves the SNP had the right idea.

    And Stalin.
    And Hitler.
    And Bob Mug.

And yes, I have hung the sarcasm board out.

  6. “Why does it seem more and more that, rather than viewing boys as boys, schools increasingly view boys as defective girls?”

In the old days boys and men were required to be what they called “gentlemen”. But then they banned regular beatings and standards of behaviour have dropped.

  7. I was trying to remember if I told any rape jokes at school.

Not sure. There was the one about most people at a gang rape are enjoying it but not sure how old that one is.

Jokes about foreigners. Of course. As Frank Richards pointed out to George Orwell “foreigners are funny”.

    Indeed, Orwell’s list of supposedly hackneyed characteristics used by Richards is in fact remarkably accurate and one can hardly go wrong in using it -;

FRENCHMAN: Excitable. Wears beard, gesticulates wildly.
    SPANIARD, Mexican, etc.: Sinister, treacherous.
    ARAB, Afghan, etc.: Sinister, treacherous.
    CHINESE: Sinister, treacherous. Wears pigtail.
ITALIAN: Excitable. Grinds barrel-organ or carries stiletto.
    SWEDE, Dane, etc.: Kind-hearted, stupid.
    NEGRO: Comic, very faithful.

  8. Girls are better at lying, Theophrastus! Disclaimer: I have been a daughter, have a sister, attended a girls boarding school and am mother to two girls.

  9. “Why does it seem more and more that, rather than viewing boys as boys, schools increasingly view boys as defective girls?”

    In a word, decadence.

In some quarters, treating boys as defective girls is possibly thought to make the boys less ‘transphobic’ and prepare them for their potential transition – chicks with dicks being very defective ‘women’.

  10. Rape joke from school 50 years ago:
    “Mummy, Mummy, I’ve been graped.”
    “Don’t you mean raped?”
“No, there was a bunch of them”.

The real humour bring in the pedantic use of the right terminology. Not really about rape at all.

  11. I was raped by a group of mime artists. They did unspeakable things to me.

I know you don’t like rape jokes, but I’m going to force one on you anyway.

According to statistics 5 of 6 people enjoy gang rape.

I saw a man trying to rape a girl, so I decided to help – she didn’t stand a chance against both of us.

  12. The puritans miss the point – or chose to ignore it – that some people, especially young boys enjoy being deliberately shocking. To be shocking a subject has to be taboo or forbidden, at least in certain contexts.
If certain subjects hadn’t been made verboten by the new gestapo then they wouldn’t be shocking and little boys wouldn’t use them to be transgressive.
Jokes about, say, brutal murder aren’t half as transgressive as the mildest joke about a protected religion. Priorities?

  13. Boys are taught from a young age to behave differently around girls. By women – their mothers, chief among them. So girls miss out on vast amounts of development opportunities as children.

Yeah, they don’t hear as many farts, but they miss discussions on the coolest cars to sex and race.

Then the girls demand to be treated equally.

  14. @Steve Thanks – I come here for the economic tedium and stay for the Tenacious D / Harry Potter mashup comments.

  15. “More than a third (36 per cent) of 11-18 year-old boys have shared racist or homophobic pictures”

What’s a racist or homophobic picture?

  16. I sneeze in threes

Do you know what my favourite rape gag is?

It’s the one with the ball that goes in the mouth and buckled up at the back!

  17. Bloke in Costa Rica

Oh, the Lefties are all about épater la bourgeoisie when it comes to pictures whose subject you can identify or music that doesn’t sound like a sack of cats being fed through a woodchipper but they get ever so po-faced when something actually transgressive occurs. Nothing more puritanical than a Lefty faced with hoi polloi doing hoi polloi-ish things.

My favourite one is due to Jimmy Carr I believe and goes something along the lines of maybe all those rape whistles do is alert other rapists to your location? And then there’s the Louis C. K. one about how sure, rape is bad, but what if you really, really want to fuck someone and they won’t let you?
