So this is the plan:
For the sake of full disclosure I should note that I have formed a new company limited by guarantee called Corporate Accountability Network Limited. It was going to be called Accounting Standards Network Limited but the word standards is regulated and so a different name was chosen.
The company is not trading as yet.
It will be partaking in research grant applications and so might do so in future.
OPM, OPM.
but the word standards is regulated
Presumably to stop fat shysters playing fast and loose with it.
Regulation is bad, or an objetional hurdle, when it comes to accounting? Is that what he’s getting at?
=-o
I thought the limited liability company was protecting the interests of the neoliberal corporate establishment and needed to be removed forthwith?
Oh, limited by guarantee, so that it can slip into that shadowy position of not paying tax on grant income?
Shurely, the correct way is to charge consultancy fees and pay tax on them? But then I suppose if you’ve not paid tax for so many years, it becomes a bit of a bind to remember that all the money that pops into the bank account isn’t yours and you have to give some of it to Liz.
Profits (if any) will still be taxable in a Ltd by Guarantee company, but cannot be distributed by way of dividends.
Why not call it Marshalsea?
So, its trade will be applying for research grants. Nice work if you can get it.
Corporate Unity Network Trust? That would solve all the problems with expectations.
Interesting use of the word “network”. Could it be a reference to his model train set? Because it couldn’t possibly refer to people – unless a network of one is admissable.
“network” is a typo caused by autocorrect of “not work”.
The company is not trading as yet.
It will be partaking in research grant applications and so might do so in future. It does, however, have a logo
”Time to strike forth and make your fortune”
”The very best to you and the new venture – I am looking forward to seeing it’s work and success.”
Richard Murphy says:

I am not seeking to make a fortune
Enough to feed me and my sons will do
so he is going to apply for research grants and siphon off enough for buns for himself??
Corporate Accountability Structures Investment Network Organisation.
Be fair, Swiss toni … research grants do tend to pay the wages of those doing the research.
If the esteemed Mr Murphy can land himself a grant to do his thang then that’s the funder’s problem, not his.
WTF is OPM?
Other people’s money….
So, its trade will be applying for research grants.- The Peoples Parasite – so much for his boast about being in practice.
yes Geoffers you are right – I guess in this case I struggle with the idea of Murph leeching off some naive grant body and publishing waffle
Nothing on Companies House website as yet. I wonder how transparent he will be about it.
“For the sake of full disclosure I should note that I have formed a new company…”
Pompous to the end. Also “I should note that I…” sounds that he’s talking to himself….
Going by his previous comments, he’s probably formed this because there are many grants that cannot be given to sole traders or commercial organisations.
So to campaign for corporate accountability, he has set up a completely artificial company to enable him to circumvent regulations?
Looking at the Companies House register, it seems he’s been late filing his annual accounts for Tax Research LLP every year for the last four years.
Is this the behaviour of someone who should be allowed what he considers the privilege of incorporation?

Certainly it’s why he formed his LLP*
*nothing artificial about that as his (now ex) wife played a full and active part in running the LLP, which must be why she only got 1% of the profits and fatso got 99%.

Not quite. He’s so antiquated he files paper copies of accounts so they have been received on time by CoHo but then took a few days before they were processed and published. Doesn’t apply to the last accounts which WERE late, although, of course, not Fatso’s fault as there was something wrong with them when first submitted and CoHo rejected the filing (Fatso has previously expressed no sympathy when this sort of thing happens to others as he says they should get a proper accountant – can’t disagree with that).

That was my thought, too. The need for disclosure implies that someone gives a crap about his ramblings.
