I dunno

“I’m trying to figure out how I can best serve this country — where I can do the greatest good for the United States of America. So, yeah, I’m thinking through that and it, you know, may involve running for the presidency. It may involve something else,” O’Rourke said after being asked if he’s considering challenging Cornyn.

Get a job? Produce something that people only have to accept voluntarily?

  1. Beto, like AOC, is a media invention. And unlike AOC, Beto seems to understand that the best thing he can do, career-wise, is to keep running for offices he has no chance of actually winning. He couldn’t beat Cruz, so there’s no reason to think he could beat Cornyn, much less Trump.

Just another rich white loafer who is dumb enough for the USA’s chattering class to fall in love with.

And having followed Beto rather closely, I can say with confidence that he couldn’t run a hot dog stand without fucking it up. He’ll stay in politics for as long as he can.

  2. I was listening to Andrew Yang on Joe Rogan talk about his presidential bid.

An interesting character, by comparison, with some good ideas. He’s thought a lot about the impact of AI and his version of CBI, freedom payment, has something to commend it. I’m not convinced everything will work but he does sound like he’s been out there talking and working with the people who should be supporting the Dems – truck drivers and construction workers.

He’s a political neophyte, but then so was Trump, so he might just bring some sense to the Dem’s primaries, but more likely he’ll get eaten by the machine.

  3. Imagine being a heterosexual white man and thinking there’s a chance the Democrats might make you their presidential candidate in 2020.

I haven’t seen anybody this clueless since the lovely Alicia Silverstone.

  4. Get a job? Is he employable? Actually, maybe he should get the US equivalent of an HVG licence, and do a couple of years hauling stuff about the country. That’d teach him a thing or two.

  5. WKPD: ‘Robert Francis O’Rourke was born on September 26, 1972 … He has Irish and Welsh ancestry. His mother owned a furniture store, and is the stepdaughter of Fred Korth, Secretary of the Navy under President John F. Kennedy. His father, Pat O’Rourke, served in El Paso as County Commissioner and County Judge.

… O’Rourke began his education at Escuela Montessori Del Valle preschool and …[later] enrolled in Woodberry Forest School, an all-male boarding school in Madison County, Virginia. Between graduating from high school and starting college in 1991, he was a summer congressional intern in the Capitol Hill office of U.S. Congressman Ron Coleman. … He graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature.

O’Rourke was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a car crash on September 27, 1998 at 3:00 AM on Interstate 10 in Anthony, Texas.’

So effectively another uneducated establishment drone with a propensity for drink. Don’t the Kennedys already fill that niche?

  6. O’Rourke identifies as Hispanic. “Beto” is the name he uses. He’s as bad as Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren.

Neighbor’s daughter has a Jeep. I teased him with, “I see she’s got the Elizabeth Warren edition.”

    “?”

“It’s white, but it says “Cherokee.”

  7. Oh yeah, he wanted admission into the Hispanic Caucus but was denied. Evidently he thought going the Pocahontas Warren route was a good idea. A real brain surgeon.

  8. ““I’m a capitalist. I don’t see how we’re able to meet any of the fundamental challenges that we have as a country without, in part, harnessing the power of the market,” – Beto O’Rourke

  9. Also from wikipeida:

His family gave him the nickname “Beto”, a common Spanish nickname for first names ending in “-berto”, initially to distinguish him from his namesake grandfather

Is this ‘retconning’, as the nerds might say?

I’m not much of a class warrior, but it is clear that he’s an overprivileged cunt who’s never done a day’s work in his life, married to another one of the same.

If Hispanic and black Americans vote for oxygen thieving Dems they deserve everything they get.

  10. …keep running for offices he has no chance of actually winning.

He nearly beat Cruz – in Texas. In frickin Texas.

If not for Trump, the US would already be over the cliff into leftie la-la-land.

  11. 50.9% vs 48.3% is not “nearly beating”. That’s the equivalent of losing a soccer match 2-1. And losing 2-1 isn’t nearly beating the other team.

  12. No Dennis, that’s the equivalent of a soccer match ending at 2-2 and the result being decided on how many red and yellow cards the teams got.

“Beto” is so left and wet he makes Obama look like Attila the Hun and he lost by just a squeak in -> Texas!
