The singers Phoebe Bridgers and Courtney Jaye claimed Adams behaved inappropriately during their relationships.
In an interview with The Telegraph last year, Bridgers said she met Adams in 2015. “A mutual friend in LA was like, ‘Ryan would like you’. He really was just trying to get me recording and trying to get Ryan to hear me, but Ryan was like, ‘Let me see a picture of her’.”
Bridgers says that she and Adams “ended up hanging out all night and recording a song together called Killer. Then, a couple of weeks later, he was suddenly trying to hook up with me. I was super-down and had just broken up with my high-school boyfriend. We slept together on his 40th birthday and I’d just turned 20.”
Moore, one of the stars of NBC’s award-winning “This Is Us,” burst on the scene as a teen singer and had musical success in the late ’90s and early 2000s. She claimed Adams stalled her music career and told her, “’You’re not a real musician, because you don’t play an instrument.’”
“His controlling behaviour essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time – my entire mid-to-late 20s,” 34-year-old Moore said to the Times.
These are adult women. You know, the strong independent types who should take over the world. The mutterings about underage stuff are of course different. But adults, come along ladies, whining about who you take your knickers off for is usual enough but we expect a bit more than he wasn’t very nice to me.
Off topic but hilarious:
“Let’s give citizens free cash to save not-for-profit journalism”
says Owen Jones
Not for profit journalism being one thing I concede that Owen Jones and the Guardian are experts in.
Let’s give you someone else’s money to give to me? Excellent idea. What if they decide to spend it elsewhere? That’ll need to be policed, won’t it?
Modern feminism – women can be super-strong and superior yet tearful snowflakes simultaneously.
In fact modern feminism is just “women are right regardless”.
“When I think of all those record producers I could have fucked!” said Moore to The Beano.
Little Owen has discovered Spud’s modus operandi.
Anyone else thought this was Bryan Adams at first and then realized it was someone else that they had never heard of?
She 20 He 40. So what–she could have said no . Pathetic stuff.
If she thinks that’s bad God forbid she ever visits Angeles City.
“I was super-down”.
Women who use the word ‘super’ in front of anything are by definition morons with emotional problems.
If you ever hear a woman use the word super like this, run a mile.
Mandy- turn these relationship lemons into lemon pop with a cover of Shoulda woulda coulda.
His controlling behaviour essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time
Oh you old romantic, you!
Adams recorded a song with her and waited for her to ditch her high-school boyfriend before having a go. Sounds like the perfect gent to me.
Dongguan John,
“Anyone else thought this was Bryan Adams at first and then realized it was someone else that they had never heard of?”
There’s a whole thing about someone heckling Ryan Adams to play Summer of 69

BM4…
Haha. I’d never heard of this bloke before and that’s really funny. I was actually reading the story this morning as Bryan Adams until it was mentioned he was in his 40’s and I got all confused.
I would have been requesting the Robin Hood song.
Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
Riding through the glen,
Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
With his band of men,
Feared by the bad, loved by the good,
Robin Hood! Robin Hood! Robin Hood!
jgh, shouldn’t that be Dennis Moore?
I think it’s important that whenever feminists debate with you about sexism and misogyny in the music industry that you try to get Ja Rule’s “Livin it up” playing in the background.
Who won’t be moved by such woke lyrics as
“Half the hoes hate me, half them love me
The ones that hate me only hate me cause they ain’t fucked me
And they say I’m lucky: you think I got time to fuck all these hoes and do all these shows?”
Showing a loving, sensitive side, Ja goes on to pay a tribute to all the crazy bitches who are ‘givin it up’ on the freeway with his ‘dick in her mouth, foot on the clutch’.
One day I expect some PC feminist to actually explode while listening.
“Anyone else thought this was Bryan Adams at first and then realized it was someone else that they had never heard of?”
Yes, I had “Everything I do” running through my head until I saw the photo in the article.
