Compulsory lessons to teach children from the age of five about gay and trans relationships will be outlined in guidance to head teachers to be published tomorrow.
The controversial new statutory guidance will also spell out for the first time the end of parents’ right to opt their children out of sex and relationships education classes in secondary school.
They do seem to be missing the bit about a liberal society being a plural one….
I look forward to the bit where they explain gay classes are compulsory to muslim parents…
@RlJ: They’ve already come a cropper there. This could get interesting really fast!

RLJ,
Here’s one.
When I saw this I was reminded of all the demonstrations, some violent, by the usual suspects against Section 28 which provided exactly what these parents want.
Yep, this is going to be fun.
The Fish Faced Cow and BluLabour on the job again. It will be interesting to see who wins. Bet on the beards.
The lesson is that the way to win is to convert to Islam.
The lesson is that they are unified and know it where we are not. One protester gives the globo scum a laugh. Tens of thousands –including those willing to put fists in coppers faces–can’t be laughed off and gives the globos the shits.
Ladies and gentlemen and eunuchs… The Conservative Party!

Quite. But maybe we were wrong about that? Maybe these things are more like a coin toss – you’ll notice a tuppence rarely lands on its side.
So we’ve gone, in the historical blink of an eye, from sexual deviants being shunned by normal folk, to normal folk being persecuted by the State if they show insufficient enthusiasm for sexual deviance (hullo, Graham Linehan!).
The lesson I’m drawing here isn’t that tolerating weirdos is the future.
Dear Mr Worstall
At what point does teaching children as young as five about sexual relationships; or come to that anything to do with relationships at all, devolve to being child sexual abuse?
Since when did government decide it knows everything there is to know about human relationships that it can order that children as young as five be instructed in the approved wisdom on those subjects?
When do we start to kick government out of our collective faces?

“It’s a Muslim
communitycolony.”There, fixed that for them. I wonder when the Home Office will be rebranded as the Home and Colonial Office.

Will there also be compulsory lessons to teach children from the age of five about straight relationships? I don’t remember being taught about any relationships at the age of five, the school was more concerned with teaching me not to widdle in the gulley grates and to use the toilet instead. Ah, the 1970s.
I thought it already was.
The funniest thing about the Muzzies vs LBGT brigade was that it was inevitable that they would clash at some point and this intersection 🙂 is hardly surprising.
I think the Muzzies will win and there will be some kind of “yeah but, no but” exemption for the Muzzies and their kids.
The gayers are yesterday’s victims. They’ve had their quota of rights granted and they look suspiciously male, pale and stale for the firebrands of the Identitarian movements of the left.
It is funny when the states pets fight though…
Even though I am in the “good with colours” brigade, I’ve never thought sex education beyond the “This goes here, this goes there” and “some people are different” really mattered and even then only for teenagers getting into puberty.
Pre-teens? Ugh. No. Creepy.
Given that homosexuals and lesbians are about 1-2% of the population, why? Plus, who decides what a healthy relationship looks like?
School 68-82
Sex, relationships, homo/hetero never mentioned by teachers. School was teaching facts; social/societal was for family, church etc
As it should be.
