Devereux is wrong. His proposal is just another example of a neoliberal fantasist’s unicorn approach to policy making: suggesting an ideal that is great in an Oxford paper that has not the slightest shred of evidence that it could ever be of benefit to the world at large.
I would hope we had enough experience of the believers in unicorns to kick such ideas into touch by now.
Devereux is a serious economist, unlike Ritchie. It’s like Ritchie has entered an arse-kicking competition against a giant monster with 20 legs and no arse.
Snigger.
It’s like Ritchie has entered an arse-kicking competition against a giant monster with 20 legs and no arse.
Nice. And Ritchie of course is all arse, without a leg to stand on.
The comment is not career limiting as Ritchie has no chance of an academic position without EU funding (i.e. not in the UK post Brexit)
Devereux is a career academic with proper qualifications
and has published more peer reviewed papers than Ritchie has had hot dinners. Ritchie is inanely jealous of him (and other tax academics like Judith Freedman) which is why his attacks are so vicious.
I wonder how Ritchie’s planning for life post City University is going. His job there ends on 31 October.

Socialism, disproved repeatedly in reality to the tune of millions of deaths.
Free market capitalism, delivers on every socialist promise in the end.
But that’s Spud’s unicorn…….
Sam Jones: Devereux […] has published more peer reviewed papers than Ritchie has had hot dinners.
Impressive if true. Capt Potato has the look of a man who never stinted himself in the way of hot dinners.
suggesting an ideal that is great in an Oxford paper that has not the slightest shred of evidence that it could ever be of benefit to the world at large.
Fucks sake, this is nearly every ‘Progressive’ policy ever attempted and literally everything the fat one wants done, except replace ‘Oxford paper’ with ‘toilet paper’.
