Err, yes

Scotland Yard’s detectives had believed in ‘Nick’. His claims of being raped and tortured as a child by a group of paedophile VIPs that included a former prime minister, military generals and the heads of MI5 and MI6, had been described by the Metropolitan Police back in December 2014 as “credible and true”.

For more than 15 months, the force took seriously Nick’s insistence that he had personally witnessed three children being murdered by the gang.

So, what we really want and need to know. Did Bea Campbell, OBE, believe these allegations?

It’s one of those compass needle tests, butt end version.

  1. “Opening the case against him, Tony Badenoch QC, said when Northumbria Police had been asked to look again at Mr Beech’s allegations they found “key elements of the story were totally unfounded, hopelessly compromised and irredeemably contradicted by other testimony”…”

So much for ‘the mighty Met’ vs the ‘country bumpkin force’…

How can you not take that claim with a mountain of salt? And has anyone been sacked yet, or will “lessons be learned” yet again?

Funny how they prosecute when it’s a man making the thoroughly bogus claims.

  4. What kind of twisted worldview do you have to have to consider an OTT story like this even remotely plausible?

  5. For anyone who knew 1980s politics his claims were obviously bogus from the moment he said Ted Heath and Harvey Proctor were taking part in the “abuse” in the same room. The hatred between those two was legendary, and the Met should have known that.

Honestly, read that again and again. It is fucking completely bonkers. This is 911 Truther level crazy, except this time it is the people in power who are the crazies.

  7. Looking at Mr Beech, I can’t help thinking of what Ricky Gervais said to the kid in the playground who called him a paedo, “I’m not a paedo, but even if I was, you’d be safe you tubby, ginger cunt”.

  8. As has been said before, the police ought not to have opined on the merits of his evidence.

Likewise, smug git investigative officers should not be mouthing off at the conclusion of trials.

Their job is to investigate, without favour. They are not prosecutors.

And yes, someone ought to be sacked for the “credible and true” nonsense alone although of course and with crashing predictability it is almost impossible to sack coppers.

  9. The people who ran this team are now junior dog catchers, right? The Met sacked them, right?

I also wonder how ‘credible and true’ they would have found the claims had they involved a former Labour leader, former trade union leaders and perhaps a Chief Constable.

Line of Duty is my favourite programme on the telly not because of the intricate plotting and credible story-lines (the last series was particularly crud) but because it depicts bent coppers coming a cropper. Soothing.

  11. TMB–TV fantasy is about the only place you will see that.

This is the “rentboys torn in half between two cars Roman Arena style ( the tearing not the cars of course) in the HoT car park” case. House of Traitors we can see with our own eyes but House of 100 % blood crazed homo-psycho-paedos is a bridge far too far even for this sad age.

That the Met sucked up this bowl lof sick shows how far “trendy” is all that really matters to the useless cunts.

The word for that is somewhere closer to “incredible”. This is pure Dave Spart fantasy. Conspiracies of Tory types, all into bumming boys have their fun with working class kids as they’re untouchable. On balance, I’d assume, if I was a copper, that he was a deranged fantasist and at least do the basic stuff of checking the facts he’d given me. Then you bring him back in and tell him to fuck off before you charge him with wasting police time.

Miss Prism: Do not speak slightingly of the three-volume novel, Cecily. I wrote one myself in earlier days.

Cecily: Did you really, Miss Prism? How wonderfully clever you are! I hope it did not end happily? I don’t like novels that end happily. They depress me so much.

Miss Prism: The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.

Cars? Luxury. When I were a lad, we were torn apart between wild horses in the HoC car park. Had to pay for the privilege too. Never did us any harm, mind.
