I do wonder you know

This is the same administration that imprisons immigrants on the basis of their sexual orientation and is introducing legislation that would make it legal for healthcare providers and emergency services to let LGBT+ people die.

Where do these beliefs come from?

The make it legal etc thing is a conscience clause. Just like the UK has about abortion. You don’t have to take part in one if it’s against your beliefs. Maybe that’s righteous and maybe its not, dunno. But to be against a conscience clause is to insist that you’re allowed to force someone into doing something they think is wrong. Rilly?

But the imprisoning people at immigration because of their sexuality? Immigration’s not even allowed to ask you about your sexuality. It’s a protected characteristic. People also do indeed gain asylum on the basis of their sexuality. Be, for example, gay from a place where gays are oppressed and they’ll let you in. Permanently. Which is a bit different from jailing you because of your sexuality.

Is it that I’m not privy to some special information source here? Or is it that some peeps are making stuff up?

  1. A wise man once said “SJWs Always Lie”. This is just one of many, many examples.

Once you have made “Orange Man Bad” axiomatic, the rest just follows.

  2. Same reason Marxism never dies. No truth is ever told. No crime admitted. No honesty, no integrity. All that matters is power….

  3. If you use the Wi-Fi in McDonalds, you’ll see its family filter comes from that haven for transphobic bigots, Mumsnet.

It says something about trannies that their mortal enemy is a bunch of mothers on the internet.

  4. Could be he’s conflating detention centres for illegals with prison.

Like prisons, too few are in them.

  5. And the cognitive dissonance that exists when you ask how much of this was going on under the previous administration or to show where Trump had changed the rules

  6. “This is the same administration that imprisons immigrants on the basis of their sexual orientation and is introducing legislation that would make it legal for healthcare providers and emergency services to let LGBT+ people die. ”

I don’t even know what sort of clown world you’d have to be living to think that immigrants are imprisoned based on sexual orientation. What does that even mean? If you’re a legal immigrant, you’re not imprisoned at all. And if you’re an illegal immigrant you don’t get extra charges for being gay. If necessary they may be willing to sequestrate you – for your own safety. Because your fellow illegal immigrants may try to kill you if they come from one of those countries not south-of-the-border.

Tim, what do you mean by ‘conscience clause’? I’m not aware of any conscience clause available to medical care workers and first responders that would allow them to refuse treatment based on a patients gender identity. The only stuff I’m aware of are those that pertain to certain forms of reproductive medicine – abortions and prescribing or issue abortifacents or birth control.

No religious hospital in the United States would ever refuse care because the patient is LGBT. They may not be willing to use that patient’s preferred pronouns, but they’ll get all the care they can afford – like all the rest of us. And while I support some of this transgender stuff, I can’t bring myself to think that not calling a he a she is equivalent to ‘letting you die’.

  7. And I have to say – I don’t like Trump (best of a bad lot) but he’s the most LBGT-friendly President in . . . ever. What do these people think Clinton would have done?

    What did Obama do? Nothing.

  8. Steve, it may also say something about mothers.

For the rest of us, this may be the defining paradigm.

  9. Bloke in North Dorset

    What did Obama do? Nothing.

He (and the Clinton witch) didn’t even support gay marriage until it was politically expedient.

And the cognitive dissonance that exists when you ask how much of this was going on under the previous administration or to show where Trump had changed the rules

A friend had a real meltdown when I told her that Obama had been separating illegal immigrant children from their parents long before Trump. I don’t think she believes me even now.

  10. Edward – It’s half-sad, half-glorious. A good few Mumsnetters are or have been married to these stunning-and-brave fetishistic narcissists, and let me tell you something – after reading their stories, even I think men are bastards.

Otoh, there’s nothing quite as splendidly vituperative as a pissed-off Mum.

BiND – Yarp. And for why? Not because Obama or Trump hate families, but because there’s a huge problem of would-be illegal immigrants dragging other people’s kids to the US border and pretending to be related:

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/defense-national-security/dna-tests-reveal-30-of-suspected-fraudulent-migrant-families-were-unrelated

Por que? As human shields to try to get the soft-hearted Americans to hand over their country to hordes of Toltecs, natch. But it’s also extremely unlikely good things would happen to those children if they weren’t taken into separate custody, given the high levels of sexual abuse in the Mexican underclass.

  11. Ag – And I have to say – I don’t like Trump (best of a bad lot) but he’s the most LBGT-friendly President in . . . ever.

It’s also instructive how the American Left concocted the tale that the Vice President is a gay-hating bigot who purposefully records RuPaul’s Drag Race just so he can tape over it with Mel Gibson movies while he electrocutes male airline hostesses for fun.

Never-gonna-be-President candidate Pete Buttigieg has made Pence-bashing the entire basis of his big, gay campaign.

The only problem is, it’s complete bollocks. The guy’s just a bog-standard mainstream Christian conservative. There’s no evidence at all that he’s ever said or done anything even remotely homeophobic, unless we count petty stuff like “insufficient enthusiasm for gay marriage when it was a controversial political issue” (and they do)

You won’t find a single quote from Mike Pence that’s insulting or hateful towards the Elgibbity, but there’s a digital tsunami of hate directed t’other way. SJWs Always Lie, indeed.

  12. You’ve got to wonder how woke this sorry person is when their blog name is stolen from a song written by Morrissey, who is now a hate figure for the left

  13. “…written by Morrissey, who is now a hate figure for the left”

To paraphrase Andy Warhol, in the future everyone will be the no. 1 hate figure for the left for 15 minutes.

  14. “the other day, I told the most powerful man in the world to take a flying fuck at the moon.”

Yeah, I bet when Trump noticed, he decided to completely change all his policies.

  15. To paraphrase Andy Warhol, in the future everyone will be the no. 1 hate figure for the left for 15 minutes.

Or as I saw elsewhere, in the future everyone will be Emmanuel Goldstein for fifteen minutes.

  16. This is the same administration that imprisons immigrants on the basis of their sexual orientation and is introducing legislation that would make it legal for healthcare providers and emergency services to let LGBT+ people die.

    Lol. Absolutely mad.

  17. Trump hates women, blacks, the poor and the sick?

    Let’s see

Thirty reasons why we welcome you, Mr President

    Seems he doesn’t.

btw Snow on C4 news today resurrected the “Trump made children be locked up in cages” lie

USA woman rebuked and corrected him.re Obama

    Snow “…err, err…I didn’t know that…” – lying cnut.

  18. True, Agammamon. Marshall’s calling them ‘immigrants’ marks her as an ignorant, partisan hack.

    Or a liar.
