Rather fun

The complaint that WWL and Entercom filed with NOPD says that a digital forensic expert concluded that the tweeted slur directed at the openly gay host came from Dunlap’s own phone.

“The investigation discovered that the tweet was sent from an IP address associated with Mr. Dunlap’s personal cell phone,” according to the police report.

The report outlines that Dunlap was seen on video surveillance walking into his office and closing the door at the time the post was made, and then walking out of his office with his phone in his hand just after the tweet went out.

Attorney Michael Banks also claimed that while later meeting with station officials, Dunlap asked how much the company would pay and threatened to publicly attack the station through a “scorched earth” campaign.

Dunlap, meanwhile, denies he sent the tweet and alleges mistreatment.

His lawyer Megan Kiefer labeled Entercom’s allegations as “defamatory.”

In a public release, she said, “We will reveal the appalling history of discrimination Seth has experienced during his eight years at Entercom as an openly gay man.”

Kiefer alleged that Entercom has allowed an anti-gay, bigoted, and hostile work environment to flourish.

“Entercom as well as its corporate lawyers were aware of instances of homophobia and discrimination and did nothing to protect Seth or its LGBTQ+ employees.”

Truly appalling discrimination he suffered if he was allowed to remain on air for 8 years – and if he chose to remain there 8 years.

  1. Presumably he got wind that he was for the chop, so he quickly whipped up accusations of a hate crime in order to safeguard his job. Hardly the first time that’s happened.

Well, it seems he’s right that they employed an abusive homophobe for 8 years.

  3. Certainly reinforces the opinions I’ve held for some while.
The vast majority of Twatter users are:
    1) Narcissistic cvnts to avoided at all costs
    2)Not overly bright

The sheer depth of shit these people get into with their twattering. Something the brighter of us worked out in the early days of SMS. “Do I really want to send this?” Consequences? No? Delete.

  4. Yes. And to save any doubt, I really do mean YOU. What makes you think you’re inane comments contribute anything to the sum of human knowledge? Or that anyone’s interested?

Could be said about commenting on blogs, of course. But there ye go. At least the chances of losing your job, ending up in court, losing your friends & dislaying your stupidity to the entire world are considerably less

  5. Well it’s about time that the famously homophobic world of the media was called to account…
followed by theatre… and fashion… and art… and ballet… Whenever are gays going to get a fair shake in pantomime?!

    Re pantomime

It surely can’t be long before there are claims against the actors directors and theatres that using men to play women is verboten.

Leaving Jo Brand to absolutely clean up in ugly sister, aunt etc roles.

I’m still amazed when there’s a crime or lawsuit and the smoking gun of Bob telling John to fit highly illegal brakes in all the cars, or where to hide the spending on hookers and blow, are in company emails.

Leave the office, drive to a country pub and then tell them.

I find it difficult to understate the absolute stupidity of people on the interweb. Particularly when it comes to social media.
I get to see a lot of incoming whatsappery sent to hookers. They can’t hack the english, very well. The amount come in with the sender’s foto on the profile, often with the wife ‘n sprogs, is amazing. Why not just hang a sign round your neck? “Please blackmail me” And these are supposed to be the educated middle classes. I’ve had dogs were brighter.

  9. Hoax Tip #24145

If you’re going to send yourself a hate-hoax message, for god’s sake, ensure you’re on wi-fi.

FFS has there ever been a single hate crime that hasn’t be later proven to be a hoax?!”

    Not this century.

You know how a ‘hate-crime’ is real? The perpetrators actually try to murder a motherfucker in real hate-crimes. They don’t just knock you down and put a noose on your head. They drag you into the alley and kick the shit out of you until you stop moving.
