Just received notification from the Mail on Sunday that, in a week in which I have received death threats, they are tomorrow going to publish my private address.
— Jo Maugham QC (@JolyonMaugham) September 21, 2019
The thing is, it’s not difficult to find out where he lives.
A London barrister plans to spend up to £750,000 on the restoration of a historic Sussex windmill.
Jolyon Maugham and his wife Claire bought the Grade II* listed Jack windmill at Clayton for £1.1 million last year and have submitted plans to the South Downs National Park Authority for a “massive” restoration project.
And if that disappears own the hole there will still be the application for tax funds to help make the repairs…..
Jolyon Maugham and Gina Miller share two trades then.
incidentally, wasn’t there some old horror film in which someone was attached to the sails of a windmill?
He’s received death threats, has he? Understandable. Is he trying to collect a complete set?
…and from his description you can get his planning application which shows the restoration (and huge extension) of the windmail also created an operatic recital room. Such a man of the people.
I’m pretty sure he had a website where he was extolling the virtues (and hefty prices) of his house that people could rent.
Here you go:

A snip at £950/night, outside school holidays natch. £1200-1500 then, of course. I mean who wouldn’t.
A windmill and death threats?
Please tell me there are also angry villagers with torches and pitchforks…
There’s a Trumpton joke in there somewhere.
I’m pretty sure that if someone was planning to kill him, they would be unlikely to go onto Twatter and tell him about it. So, not really death threats at all.
Who’d have any reason to dislike this simple lawyer and opera recital enthusiast?
It’s not like were trying to convince a judge to sell out the democratic rights of a huge slice of the British people……

Why would anyone stick a couple of second-hand shipping containers on a half demolished artisan’s cottage? Or has someone suffered a severe infection of architect?
Yes, pretty hideous isn’t it.
Just goes to show, money can’t buy taste.
“Why would anyone stick a couple of second-hand shipping containers on a half demolished artisan’s cottage? Or has someone suffered a severe infection of architect”
To be fair it wasn’t our favourite barrister’s design. It was done way before he bought it, in the 60s, when such monstrosities were ‘the future’, like socialism etc etc.
Self -dramatizing cockrot from a legal loser and crowd-funding crook.
Far left activist lawyer complains when far left tactics are used against him……
That sort of house design is all the rage on Grand Designs.
I don’t wish Saponaceous Joe any harm. He’s doing a grand job making the Remainers’ cause look ridiculous all by himself, as well as draining their money.
I’ve seen him referred to as a “pro-democracy lawyer”, in the GDR sense of the word I assume.
Why threaten to kill someone who will shortly disappear up their own ar$ehole?
Off topic but what I thought was going to be a dull documentary about war factories has in fact been a demolition of the much praised (by lefties) industrialisation of the USSR in WWII.
Lots of stuff produced but shit quality. More slave labour supplied to Russian factories by Gulags, than slave labour used by the Germans. 250,000 Russian political prisoners executed by the NKVD, a centrally managed economy so hopeless millions of it’s own citizens starve to death.
Meanwhile, the US provided over 400,000 trucks and 2,000 steam engines, FFS the UK sent 15,000,000 pairs of boots. Combined the US an UK sent 400m tons of canned foodstuffs.
It was cheaper for the US to extract oil, process it, build a tanker to carry it and warships to protect it and ship it to the USSR than it was for the USSR to extract it’s own oil in it’s own back garden.

Is the Docu’s name a secret?
Andrew C–What’s it called please and is it on You Tube?
Thanks
Come on, Tom! Soapy Joe’s publicity-shy!
Publishing somesone’s private address could well be described as despicable. On the other hand, publishing the address of a wedding and reception facility could be described as ‘free publicity’.
TMB
Are you not thinking of Oh Mr Porter ! With Will Hay ?
Andrew C – just saw War Factories too. What they didn’t mention is that many f the vehicles tthe USA provided were actually made in Persia. I saw one historian who said that the Russians won because of their Studebaker trucks and not the tanks.

Hard Brexit punishment: EU Parliament vote to block trade talks unless UK gives in to EU demands
European Parliament voted through a resolution that brands Brexit “regrettable” and places draconian rules on any future trade deal if the United Kingdom leaves without a deal.

European Parliament
lawmakerspowerless talking shop have voted in favour of another Brexit delay, including avoiding a no-deal exit, holding another referendum, approving the current withdrawal deal, or even cancelling Brexit altogether.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ7NeNX7u7A
CGTN = China. One would have thought they’d emphasise MEPs being powerless – have I missed something?
Pcar–good that the arrogant cunts push their shite. Every little piece of tyranny helps Brexit.
European Parliament lawmakers powerless talking shop have voted in favour of another Brexit delay, including avoiding a no-deal exit, holding another referendum, approving the current withdrawal deal, or even cancelling Brexit altogether.
Unsure about how the EU Parliament can bring any of those things about.
As a QC – is there ever a week when you *don’t* get death threats?
@Mr Ecks
Only if BBC/C4 msm report it. I doubt BBC website reports that vote anywhere as it shows EU bad and intransigent – bias by omission
