Boris isn’t being all that polite:
The prime minister has attacked the Extinction Rebellion activists protesting in London over the climate crisis, dismissing them as “uncooperative crusties” who should stop blocking the streets of the capital with their “heaving hemp-smelling bivouacs”.
But there’s a certain truth there. As with Auberon Waugh’s comment about the Greenham Common women. Smelling of wood smoke and anchovies…..
Isn’t it nice to have a PM who doesn’t mince words..?
Vaguely related, but Trump has got to be trolling with “In my great and unmatched wisdom”…
Good.
About time the politicos stopped being polite about criminals.
Blocking a public thoroughfare is an offence. More should have been banged up. Or if they’re out-manned, the public should be encouraged to move them themselves, not be afraid to do so for fear of being done for assault.
Unfortunately the government delegates nearly everything in London to a Mayor and an assembly, neither of which seem particularly concerned with this.
So the Met stands by and the PM looks weak, no one will put the blame where it really lies.
That’s one problem with devolved powers – they get the power but rarely the blame.
Julia – yes, and I smiled when the bbc newsreader, po facededly reported the PMs words. He must be a UN or EU simultaneous translators nightmare.
Rob, the answer for Boris, if he has the balls, is to designate Extinction Rebellion as a terrorist organisation. They are, after all, using terrorist tactics to impose their political, (or possibly religious), goals on the rest of us.
That way, he can send the anti-terrorist boys in to deal with the bastards without consulting Sadiq and he can also, more importantly, freeze and ultimately confiscate, the resources of those who are financing the terrorists.
And if the financiers happen to include the Open Society Foundation,,,, Well that might also shut down a lot of loudmouthed lefty organisations that are causing trouble throughout the west.
Although the entitlement of these commie crustiest is irritating, it’s still great to see it happening to a city that deserves it.
During the Occupy Wall Street some years ago I took a walk through the camp in a plaza in downtown Oakland, California. It reeked of dope, urine, and unwashed bodies. There were signs everywhere they they were there “for the 99%”. After the police finally moved them out there were an awful lot of 99 percenters happy to be able to use the plaza again.

Yep. And if anyone wants to know where this is going search Portland Antifa Andy Ngo. That city is just about out of control and the Mayor is complicit to the point even the police are begging to be allowed to carry out their jobs.
