Those right wing transphobes

So much for an all-powerful, well funded sinister trans lobby. Yet again we have zero trans or non-binary MPs, zero trans or non-binary judges, zero trans or non-binary newspaper editors, and zero trans or non-binary political columnists. Despite our awesome power we haven’t even been able to secure reliable supplies of HRT.

It’s been interesting to see the mental gymnastics the anti-trans crowd have been putting themselves through over the election results.

Dunno really. We have had a trans MEP. I know because I worked hard – along with all other Ukip peeps – to get her elected in 2009. But it’s the right wing that are the bigoted transphobes, right?

Did xe just assume xeir genders? As far as we know, Michael Gove could identify as a marmoset.

there are now more UK MPs who believe that there is a Muslim conspiracy to make people transgender

Well… Iran, obvs, but apparently xe is referring to a backbench Tory MP who once liked and/or shared something less than complimentary towards the religion of pieces. Sad!

Yes, and look how that worked out:

Kind of like Dave Cameron thinking Mrs Warsi wouldn’t bite the hand that ennobled her, in’t it? One of them right-wing transphobes could’ve predicted it’d end in an acrimonious, attention-seeking flounce.

  2. People’s instinct is to kill trannies. You are still alive, bigmouth, because of the trans lobby.

Don’t push it. Tolerance is all you are going to get. You risk that with your rants.

The pattern has repeated so many times in the last 50 years. Campaigners appear demanding tolerance/acceptance. When they get it, they don’t STFU. They demand more. The homo lobby went from ending capital punishment for homo acts (reasonable) to queer parades in New Orleans (outrageous).

21st century citizens should realize campaigners are never satisfied, they never go away, and any concession to them is the camel’s nose under the tent.

  3. Not being a Guardian reader I can sometimes go the whole day without worrying about the plight of trans people. Or indeed thinking about them at all. Then I come here.

  4. jgh,

I’ve got girlie size 7 feet and hands smaller than MrsBud, I’d make a perfect MP as a tiny proportion of my body has identified as female since birth. Except that the rest of my body hates my hands and feet.

  5. “…could’ve predicted it’d end in an acrimonious, attention-seeking flounce.”

To be fair, that prediction could apply to a majority of elected politicians of any bent.

  6. “…to queer parades in New Orleans (outrageous).”

I think that’s the general aim of a queer parade. They must have to go some to get noticed in New Orleans.

Drag Queen Story Hour seems to be a ‘thing’ now. Pushing the LGBT agenda to primary school aged, and younger, children is the new front in the war against the West.

  8. Jonathan,

But take note which “community” is or will be exempted from early stages lessons in voluntary infertility.

  9. I advise the LGBT etc crowd to be just LGB. Association with other groups is hurting their cause.

Cirrusly, if you were LGB, would you want to be associated with bigmouth?

  10. Dennis, Self Identifying As Tiresome

What is striking about CM’s whine is the complete lack of awareness about or interest in policy issues. For CM everything is about identity, which has, as of yet, not proven a winning formula. In the real world, issue driven politics usually beats identity driven politics; it’s one of the reasons Trump and Johnson are where they are.

  11. Carrie’s becoming fvcking irritating – time it got the Buffalo Bill treatment –

It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again

  12. “But it’s the right wing that are the bigoted transphobes, right?”

    Absolutely.

Our own Kamala Harris (and her supporters) told us it was racism and sexism and misogyny – while somehow forgetting that she lost her run in the *Democratic* primary.

Rashida Tlaib recently told us that the shooting by *Black Israelites* was *White Nationlist* violence.

  13. Bloke in Costa Rica

Given that yer regular MP is a roiling cauldron of psychological oddities to begin with, adding florid mental illness to the mix is not going to end well. If you are sufficiently deranged that you think it’s OK to say, “I’m a little teapot” and have it backed by force of law, then you do not belong anywhere near the levers of power.

  14. “We have had a trans MEP. I know because I worked hard – along with all other Ukip peeps – to get her elected in 2009.”

Further evidence, if it were needed, that UKIP attracted the unhinged…and why Farage needed a new vehicle.

  15. The trans newsreader when asked about Pride and LGB said that wasn’t important to them and they didn’t care, they were a real woman so what did gay pride matter to them.
In a sense I suppose at least it is a consistent train of thought for them.

  16. Does it never occur to these zero or too few whatevers activists howl about that maybe no credible whatever wants to be/do the thing?

    This year we’ve had:
    no black jockeys
    too few non-whites cycling
no/too few LGBTxyz and non-whites even at BBC

    Best to ignore the loons

    @Steve

    +1 esp RoPs and Iran

    @Gamecock

    +1

  17. @BiCR “adding florid mental illness to the mix is not going to end well.”

This. Do we really want people with demonstrable mental disorders in positions of power?

  18. There has to be a couple thousand minuscule groups running around without an elected MP. Change that to “possibly a million”.

  19. For CM everything is about identity

No wonder he’s permanently outraged. Because nature has identified him as a fat bloke. In a dress.

  20. Isn’t lunacy still on the (rightly) short list of things that prevent one from becoming a prospective parliamentary candidate?

I assume it isn’t enforced too vigorously, because if it were we wouldn’t have any MPs at all.

  21. The only point in drawing the plight of Trans people onto the front pages was to show that, since the left obviously felt and fought for them, the left were saints who couldn’t be racists in a million years, so everybody should just ignore all that bollocks spouted by Jews and the facist far right racist bastatrds and kill Tories.

    Time for Plan B chaps.

  22. I have serious concerns our Tim’s got the hots for this loudmothed geezer-in-a-frock. And he’s self confessed form for this. Aiding another female impersonator into the Brussels talkingshop. There must be some explanation for his obsession with the geezer’s whinings.

  23. The Brexit Party put up at least one trans candidate. But I suspect the Guardian would have deemed her Not A Real TS because reasons.
