Rape is always the expression of male power over women, isn’t it?

Reynhard Sinaga named as Britain’s worst rapist as police fear he may have attacked up to 200 men

At which point we’ll get the “but this is an exception” thing. And yet by some reasonable methods of measurement there’s more male on male rape in the US than there is of any other kind. That prison system….

  1. Interesting listening to radio commentary on the teenage girl convicted of making a false allegation of gang-rape in Cyprus. A fair summary would be;

“I wasn’t in court and I haven’t heard any of the evidence but it’s clear that this was a dodgy conviction caused by backward misogynist attitudes in Cyprus”

  2. Andrew C,

Yeah, Helena Kennedy was on the radio echoing the same point. It rather smacks of the same thing as when some drug mule gets arrested in Thailand with a suitcase full of smack.

I’ll bet the overlap between these people and the people who think we should remain in the EU (of which Cyprus is a member) is huge, though.

  3. One of the things that got me banned from CIF was posting the number of male rapes against the number of gay men. Of course I appreciate this is a problematical in any number of ways but if , out of 78000 rapes 9000 are male then thats 11.5% of rapes . Gay men in the population 2% …3% ?
I know I know .. that rape is not about sex necessarily ( well I have read it but I do personally find it hard to see how you would actually … but anyway )- but just to ask the question is obviously verboten. I think its a fair to ask if there is a problem or not ?

Well Chico, male victims of gay rape are not necessarily gay.

  5. rape is not about sex necessarily

It’s weird how (and I’m not picking on you, Newms) in clownworld, everything is about sex, except sex.

Of course rape is about sex. Rapists do it because they get off on it. It may also be about other things (power, humiliation, territory marking the kuffar), but I don’t think anyone has ever been raped by someone who wasn’t in the mood.

  6. Steve,

I don’t even believe that the “marking the kuffar” thing is important. Your army has invaded territory, you are the law, in the absence of any other law, you can rape with impunity. Add in some tribal stuff that they aren’t your tribe, but some other tribe, so fair game, and you’re going to get a lot of rape.

The clownworld* view is that they use rape as a weapon, when really, it’s one of the spoils of war.

    * I love this expression, I think it needs more usage.

  7. I’m not religious myself but I couldn’t help noticing the media’s constant emphasis on the rapist’s “church-going” and Christianity.

I wonder if, in other circumstances, he would have been described as “Mosque-going” or “Muslim”? *

    * No, I don’t wonder at all actually.

  8. Re: the “rape is always about power” idea.

I did read somewhere that, like so many other nonsenses, this notion was based on a single no-axe-to-grind-here paper by a couple of the usual activist feminists posing as scientists.
It was then widely adopted by everyone of a similar ilk and not opposed by anyone else who wanted to keep their job.

  9. As Bloke on the M4 says, diverse people act like a successful invading army – raping, beating and looting at will; then complaining about ‘racism’ when the native population object.

  10. Not going to defend the prison system or deny the widespread prevalence of rape in it but . . .

There’s the matter of definition. By definition, *all* sex in prison is considered rape as inmates are not allowed to consent.

Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power

That theme is older than Progressivism.
