It is fun, isn’t it

While many people sympathised with them, particularly the young and those more in tune with Meghan’s values relating to her racial identity and feminist views, others disapproved.

A nice example of cakeism.

A woman who becomes a duchess purely on the basis of who she beds and makes her womb available to decides to insist she’s a feminist. That raising (descent if you prefer) from middling actress to global superstar is purely and totally patriarchal. And yet she’s the strong independent one?

  1. What I don’t get is their claim to youth. In their statement last week, they said they would ditch the established Royal Rota for journalists, in favour of “grassroots media organisations and young, up-and-coming journalists”.

He is 35; she is 38. In what world do they still count as “young”?

  2. That mad old bat Carole Cadealladr described Megs as a young mother who is being bullied by Piers Moron.

    Pathetic

  6. Andrew M,

“What I don’t get is their claim to youth. In their statement last week, they said they would ditch the established Royal Rota for journalists, in favour of “grassroots media organisations and young, up-and-coming journalists”.

He is 35; she is 38. In what world do they still count as “young”?”

No, not them, but the journalists they want to talk to.

The point of this, I suspect, is that they want people who are easy to push around. Print anything bad about them, and they’ll cut you off. It’s like how Hollywood deals with some of the entertainment media. Give a good review to a film, or you don’t get to interview the stars.

What they don’t like about the royal press pack is that they’re not entirely cheerleaders for them. They’ll print the dirt about them.

(what they haven’t figured out is that the press are going to be merciless if they stop giving interviews to them. that the interviews already ensure they get a nicer press than they would otherwise)

  7. Paraphrasing the Megxit story:

35 yr old man decides to move out of parents’ house and give up allowance.

I suspect they will find the world of international celebrity to be extremely fickle and will probably drop off quickly.
Crawling back (or trying to) in 5 yrs? Likely.

Ah well. Such a shame. Never mind.
The Royal family are better off without a couple who are amongst the most privileged and comfortable people in the world, yet lack the awareness to keep their mouths shut and stop complaining abput how rough they have it, especially when stood in one of the poorest countries in the world.

  8. @Newmania…Foreigners.

I was struck by a throwaway line in Kenny Lynch’s obit, which ran something like “I never experienced racism until I was 20, with arrival of the Windrush generation – prior to that I was the only lad in town.” I personally thought we had cracked it in the late 70s/early 80s, but when Blair turbo-charged immigration and more recently when multi-culturalism morphed into serious identity politics, race relations in England became something akin to that of the USA. Rival tribes.

    “Cadealladr”

Just one of The Guardians stable of mad cat women.

Did anyone not really see this coming with Megan? She’s got Harry’s balls and she was always going to use him to elevate her in the place where she really wants to be, LA.

  10. In the enjoyable “Great British pottery throw down” which started yesterday one of the competitors is allegedly an “ex” of Harry, albeit only for a short while. A very attractive lady – silly boy.

  11. Bernie – Those whose careers depend on ” delivering Brexit” ( to a country that does not demonstrably want it ) are often heard claiming this was a constitutional question .
At the same time foreigners are relentlessly blamed for high housing costs and low wages inflaming ethnic hated and appealing to the large constituency who were sympathetic to the BNP transferred to UKIP and are now hidden within the Conservative vote . That is a surprisingly large constituency especially of older Labour voters

This is a transcript of a speech by Nick Griffin talking about how his racist aims might be disguised and sold

“There is a difference between selling out your ideas and selling your ideas. The BNP isn’t about selling out its ideas, which are your ideas too….But we are determined, now, to sell them, and that means basically to use the saleable words, as I say: freedom, security, identity, democracy.Nobody can criticise them. Nobody can come at you and attack you on those ideas. They are saleable.

Perhaps one day, once, by being rather more subtle, we’ve got ourselves in a position where we control the British broadcast media; then perhaps one day the British people might change their mind and say ‘yes, every last one must go’.

Perhaps they will one day, but if you want that out as your sole aim to start with: you’re going to get absolutely nowhere, so instead of talking about racial purity, you talk about identity”

…….and thus it has come to pass to the immortal shame of this country

  12. Meghan’s values relating to her racial identity and feminist views

Nobody dislikes Megs because she’s a quadroon or whatever, they don’t like her because she’s tackier than a rhinestone shellsuit. She’s the kind of desperate Z-list sleb who you’d expect to see advertising frozen fish fingers on Channel 5.

(BTW – LOL @ “feminist views”, she literally married for money and fame)

  13. At the same time foreigners are relentlessly blamed for high housing costs and low wages inflaming ethnic hated and appealing to the large constituency who were sympathetic to the… Yada yada yada

    Hmm.
Pointing out that a large increase in demand results in a rise in prices is not racism. Its economics.
You fail to mention the other factors that have resulted in house price increases – two income families (who can afford higher prices as a result), the rise in family breakdown and single living resulting in more competition for smaller properties (more competition -> higher prices), perenially low interest rates which artificially increase property prices.

There’s another 3 off the top of my head. But you just want to lump us all in the category of “racist” because it then means you don’t have to actually address the problem of high property prices as you can just ad hominem us and say the problem isn’t real its just made up by racists.

    No wonder people think you’re a troll…

Aye; I hadn’t even realised she was “black” until she started going on about it. She’s the same sunbed-tan colour and surgically-“enhanced” look of most minor Hollywood celebs.

  16. RichardT

“I hadn’t even realised she was “black” until she started going on about it.”

Nor me. I wasn’t interested in them and hence simply never noticed until it was pointed out. Given the natural variation in any case of those “more privileged” (is that the right term?), you’ve really got to try to notice, no?

+1 too re the blonde Rhodesian.

  17. Newmania: “At the same time foreigners are relentlessly blamed for high housing costs and low wages…”

Is it your contention they have absolutely no effect, then?

  18. “Nobody dislikes Megs because………”.

I dislike her because she’s a stroppy gobshite who purely as a result of her marriage now has the backing of the worldwide media to spread her SJW opinions and general sh1t-stirring.

  19. ““I hadn’t even realised she was “black” until she started going on about it.”

    Nor me.”

Same here. I suspect that if you showed a picture to 100 people who’d never heard of her, no more than a handful (if that) would guess either…

  20. Note that SHE insists everyone know she is ‘black,’ THEN complains about racism.

“I suspect that if you showed a picture to 100 people”

She won’t rest until everyone knows.

  21. How does a 35 year old who has banged models get pussy-whipped? Like I remember my mates doing this as teenagers over some bitch girlfriend, but they dumped them and learnt their lesson.

The bloke’s an utter chump. Either it goes famously in the colonies, and he’s going to be dumped, or he has to come back with his tail between his legs. He’s a stepping stone for her. I thought they might have 5 years, but at the speed she’s moving, it could be 2-3. She’s very canny about everything being around her rather than them.

He dumped that pottery throwdown woman because he didn’t want to be tied down, like you’re going to do better than a lingerie model, you idiot.

  22. Andrew C – Apparently Oz is full of albino Abos. I saw one of them airport reality shows a few years ago where a pasty-skinned and beringleted Orthodox Jew straight from FIDDLER ON THE ROOF tried to claim Australian customs were raciss for searching his bag… because he’s aboriginal.

I’d like to think prehistoric didgeridoo enthusiasts were creating kosher kangaroo recipes, but the sad truth seems to be that – as with low-effort trannies – wypipo are better at muscling in on the special perks n privileges associated with the identity they’re LARPing as than the people those things were supposed to help.

Similarly, it’s amazing how many wealthy, blue-eyed Red Injuns there are in the US of States.

Doesn’t really affect me as a proud black African American woman of colour tho.

More than anything, Newmania reminds me of the Never Trumpers we have here in the States.

Unaware of their inconsequential nature and effectual in all endeavors, everyone they claim to represent has either actively supported – or adapted to – the new political reality and moved on. But, in a world that has passed them by, and being unable to comprehend their own descent into frivolity, they cling to the idea that they, and they alone, possess the wisdom to lead the deluded masses to salvation.

That’s Newmania in a nutshell: Not strong enough to face reality, and not bright enough to process it. So what do we get? The same tired old tropes we were getting months ago. They didn’t work then, they aren’t working now, but none of that matters. What matters is maintaining the fiction that We Know Better.

Just what is it about his family tree that would suggest he’d end up anything other than a dim bulb?

They will be D-Listers within two years.

  29. “Just what is it about his family tree that would suggest he’d end up anything other than a dim bulb?”

James I & VI was a seriously clever bugger. Elizabeth I was clever too but did not breed.

Able men thought Prince Albert rather able.

  30. Newmania. “Inflaming ethnic hatred…” It would be wrong of me to deny there are individuals that don’t particularly care for people outside their immediate social/tribal demographic. But ‘hatred’? Not sure I know anyone capable of hate. The meaning of the word has become subject to hyperbole and exaggeration – in the old days we used to use words like miffed. “Large constituency who were sympathetic to the BNP…” I would imagine supporters of the BNP are what the pollsters refer to as statistically insignificant. Those you appear to view as their heirs, “now hidden within the Conservative vote”, are in reality the ‘fruitcakes and loonies’ and ‘basket of deplorables’ that have been subject to far more denigration from broadcast and print media than the lads with suicide vests and machetes. And talking about ‘identity’ does not imply an interest in eugenics.

  31. dearieme said:
“James I & VI was a seriously clever bugger.”

Charles II too, I think, although too lazy to do much with it. Of course he didn’t provide heirs either (well, not in the legitimate line), but suggests that James I’s intelligence did pass down.

  32. Steve,
I’ve heard (so it might be bs) that if you can prove aboriginal ancestry it can mean a free university education in some Aussie states.
Also that the people benefiting are mainly those who can trace, say, an aboriginal g.g.grandparent in colonial times, and otherwise look European

  33. Dearieme, alas the Tudors and Stuarts have very little to do with the Windsors. George I was 51st in line for the throne after all. HMQ strikes me as pretty smart though.

Harry came down our way to open a monument a few years back. Lovely bloke, obviously well liked by the military as well as the girls, but only short planks upstairs.

  34. Bernie – I don`t wildly disagree with you its more that you have omit half the story. I`m not an uber Liberal and I don`t think the feelings of the ethnic English about England need an apology .The problem is when resentments are fanned and problems such as home ownership low wage and under funded services start to be blamed …”Them” –

Sadly true, although William & Harry do also descend from a couple of Charles II’s bastards, via their mother, some of whom seemed fairly capable.

But any brains in the family now are probably (as dearieme suggests) more due to Albert.

  36. That is what the Brexit campaign did, brutally incessantly and no regard to the standards of public debate we have been previously used to.

Like the standards of public debate when we decided to let 10 million foreigners Zerg-rush our borders? Oh wait, there was no debate, successive governments just lied through their teeth about migration.

At least you got your money’s worth out of your fainting couch. Populism, for want of a better word, is the inevitable future because globalism has failed. If you think the milquetoast Brexit debate was hot stuff, b–b-b-baby y-y-you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Despite everything, I have so much to be grateful for

    January
My 2018 ended with a hate storm, in response to my appointment as chair of the government’s Building Better, Building Beautiful Commission. But the new year brings a lull, and I hope and pray that the Grand Inquisitor enthroned by social media will find another target.

    December
During this year much was taken from me — my reputation, my standing as a public intellectual, my position in the Conservative movement, my peace of mind, my health. But much more was given back: by Douglas Murray’s generous defence, by the friends who rallied behind him, by the rheumatologist who saved my life and by the doctor to whose care I am now entrusted. Falling to the bottom in my own country, I have been raised to the top elsewhere, and looking back over the sequence of events I can only be glad that I have lived long enough to see this happen. Coming close to death you begin to know what life means, and what it means is gratitude.

Agree with all of this, she had a plan from the beginning and Harry is just a vehicle to get her to the next stop.

Just on Harry, guys get in this place when they have been raised by a mother who is totally self-involved, gives them no affection except when it’s the sons serving their own emotional needs. Harry has been trained for it, he likely doesn’t even know it.

Meghan has rocked in with a mix of turbo charged affection, then threats of withdrawing this. She is just as self-involved as his mother, that’s an itch he cannot resist. Even the smartest guys get blindsided by this.

In other words, keep having referendums until you get the result you want.

In other words, the punters are too thick to be trusted to sort through the public debate themselves, so toss out the results and have more referendums. But only until you get the result you want. Then it can stop.

In other words, you’re one of the smart ones… Unlike the other ones. So you should get what you want. We can call it democracy, even thought it isn’t and you’ll be happy. Because above all else, you should get what you want. Because you’re one of the smart ones.

  50. @Newmania
I think you are confused if you think leave won. Remain lost because they screwed up, I used to be a Lib Dem but I changed to UKIP when
    a) No one would stand up for our fishermen – I don’t think the CFP is fair and it used to be very bad for the environment
    b) I don’t think it is fair that people can get off a plane and get nicer housing than I can afford.
In a sane world these concerns would have been addressed and I would have voted remain – but instead I got called racist and voted leave – clever move by remainers eh!

  51. And our Royal Schwartzer is cut from similar cloth. There’s a thing called smarts which has little to do with formal education or intelligence. I’d imagine she’s got lots of it. She’s managed to claw & elbow her way up from obscurity against the strongest competition in the world. Every inch on the ladder a learning experience. Son of Jugears as never had a learning experience in his life. Every important decision has been made for him & those he made for himself, went pear shaped, have been sorted on his behalf. Mostly without him knowing. Same applies to his entire family. He & they are simply outclassed. As are most of the media & commentators, because their real world life experiences aren’t much greater.
I imagine she has a game plan & to date isn’t far off track. Although she’ll be ready to modify it to take advantages as they occur. So far she’s from nothing to a Duchess. What would her autobiography be worth, today? And she may have only just started. Good luck to her. Nothing better than watching the high & mighty being taken to the cleaners. As long as she doesn’t end up having a nasty car accident.
