A Republican lawmaker in Montana said he believes the U.S. Constitution allows for the shooting or jailing of people who identify as socialists.
The right to do this is a sad absence from the Constitution. Seems fair enough though…..

I’d do both just to be on the safe side.
Yes, but make sure to shoot first, then jail.
You could argue it does. The constitution presumes the preservation & defence of the republic under the constitution. If you argue that the republic & its constitution are incompatible with socialism, then the defence of them by necessary means is justified. The argument is about the means, not the intent.
Can we then carpet bomb Dearborn?
It was illegal to be a communist in the U.S.
Briefly, in 1954.
Now, sedition is okay if you call it “resistance.”
Can we then carpet bomb Dearborn?
Technically, carpet bombing isn’t shooting.
A good reason to be in favor of limited government. You want to limit how much you are ruled by the people who choose become politicians, even Republicans.
It’s not forbidden, therefore it’s permitted, no?

Given that the original constitution was largely written by people who were very interested in how the Roman Republic worked, it is surely arguable that there is an implied right to assassinate an oppressive president. However Obama is out of office so I don’t see how it applies at the moment
Wierd, on the drive home I was musing on the “I am *literally* a Communist” idiot and wondering why it didn’t result in the immediate placement of a bullet between the eyes to prevent the murder of several million people, rather than bemusement. It’s like a sentient ebola virus explicitly stating to you that it is the ebola virus, and you just shrug. If you treat self-declared mass murderers as mildly bemusing childishness, all they will learn is that being a mass murder is just mildly bemusing childishness.
We know how dangerous socialism is to the health and wealth of citizens so treating them like rabid dogs seems reasonable.
I favor throwing them out of helicopters, as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Isn’t this cultural appropriation?

Socialism is a mind virus. You can therefor apply the full powers of the CDC to eradicate it.
Our rights don’t come from the Constitution – It only list what the privileges the government has been granted and what its forbidden from doing.
We don’t ask ‘where in the Constitution does its say you can do that?’ We ask ‘where in the Constitution does it say I can’t?’
