This is a full-blown slump.
No one now in any position of responsibility has ever seen anything like this. Nor have we planned for it.
What that means is that some decidedly lateral thinking, and very deep understanding of the real nature of economics, money, tax, business and its financing and how we get people to work again is required.
I am just hoping it is available.
Wonder where he thinks it might be found? I assume not reading Ludwig Erhard…..
The plan should be massive deflation allowed to happen and what collapses collapses and passes to new ownership. Classic Doug Casey stuff.
Quickest way back to health –and no chance of it happening.
‘No one now in any position of responsibility has ever seen anything like this.’
But people outside positions of responsibility have? A strange phrase. Okay, not for Murph.
‘Nor have we planned for it.’
What might that plan have looked like? “Tutto nello Stato, niente al di fuori dello Stato, nulla contro lo Stato.”
‘What that means is that some decidedly lateral thinking, and very deep understanding of the real nature of economics, money, tax, business and its financing and how we get people to work again is required.’
I can translate, “Someone like me.”
‘I am just hoping it is available.’
“PICK ME! PICK ME!”
Murph offers himself as savior.
But first the Cruxifiction…

Jussi,
I don’t want to know how to fly a rocket ship….
It’s only the lockdown that is preventing millions from making a mass pilgrimage to Ely, flagellating themselves with fair tax marks.
I think he is missing the company of Diane and our beloved donkey. Would that be an essential journey?
Looks like a pitch to Labour. Expect over the next week ago to see Ritchie praising Keir Starmer in the hope of a job.
The solution is clandidly clear, we target some identifiable group, some of whom have assets, liquidate them and take their assets off them to share amongst our friends.
There is a dead fly on my window sill who has a better chance of being consulted on the way forward than him.
Apart from his ordinary and well documented stupidity and attitude issues, he has no experience in how government works, and little interest in finding out.
He is best placed for an unpaid role sniping from the sides.
Indeed, Adrian. His best prospect for work is with a rent-a-mob.
Spud needs to get out more…now!
It’s really easy to see why Murphy Richards had to give up (Both incarnations) – how do you satirise this?
‘ What that means is that some decidedly lateral thinking, and very deep understanding of the real nature of economics, money, tax, business and its financing and how we get people to work again is required.’
I think when he talks of ‘lateral thinking’ he’s implying the kind of flight of fantasy normally only possible under substantial quantities of hallucinogenic drugs
He hasn’t got a very deep understanding of anything, even his own limitations. I have never seen anyone as ignorant of even the most rudimentary aspects of the modern world
He lasted one term of an economics undergraduate course before quitting
He has absolutely zero understanding of money – beyond a desire for the taxpayer to grant him a living ad infinitum.
Despite writing a book on tax he remains resolutely unclear or dismissive of basic concepts like the ‘Free Rider’ or disincentives. Though he claims to have been an accountant I have seen no evidence he can understand even the rudiments of a balance sheet
In short, Adrian’s assessment is spot on, my son (4) bought a large stick back from his ‘daily walk‘ today to play with in the garden. I’d put my faith in both my son and the stick rather than even ask for the time of day from this most repulsive of cretins…
Well Spuddie, they mostly say end this irrational lock-down and copy Sweden’s ‘Open For Business’ strategy. With a dead economy Gov, NHS etc can’t be funded
I’m sure you have heard of Sweden Mr Spuddie, peeps like you revere Sweden
