What do you mean “even”?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are working on plans to run emotional support groups, a multi-media educational empire, and even launch a wellbeing website under a new non-profit organisation named Archewell.

Selling crystals a la Goop or QVC is about Meghan’s metier, not an “even”.

  1. How can a couple like this possibly offer ‘emotional support’ advice? It’d be like getting patio construction advice from Fred West!

  2. “I wonder if even Harry realises how silly they both are.”

No. He absorbed it all with his crazy mother’s milk.

Its an age old story. People with no to moderate ability but high self esteem, self-believe and narcissism wallow around corporate life telling anyone who’ll listen how good they are and how all the senior managers are useless. If only those useless senior managers would listen to them the company would be making millions, billions even.

Most of their fellow workers just just roll their eyes and avoid them, but a few sycophants believe them and encourage them, hoping to make good on their coat tails. Eventually they come to believe it themselves and off they go to prove their point, only to find that the cruel world is just as bad as those useless managers and they flounder just as badly.

There’s even a term for it psychology and we have our own pet example living in a nondescript end of terrace in Ely.

  4. So i actually had to look for a wellbeing website to see what the hell one was.
Skipping over the first few results (because they were things like dictionary definitions) to one of the first proper websites brings me to…

    https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/wellbeing/

Hmm. It is filed with such vital advice as :

    How to stay polite.

Advice on how to cope with stress induced by, erm, group chats on your phone.

    Put it down maybe?

    And finally…
How the Coronavirus is impacting gay hookup culture.

That’s something i definitely needed to know.

All i can say, if they are going to start a wellbeing website is
    “Ahahahahahahhaaa, breathe, Ahahahahahaaaahaha”

Poor Harry. He doesn’t realise he’s become a caricature of a whipped husband.

How irretrievably messed up would one have to be to turn to these two for emotional support?

  6. Maybe it’s a bit like asking Keith Vaz to sit on a parliamentary chemsex committee – or something very similar to that, which did happen.

  7. Or like asking a former Communist to run the World Health Organisation and oversee a global pandemic that originated in China……..

  8. drawn up proposals for a vast and ambitious array of projects under the name Archewell, derived from the Greek word for “source of action” and the inspiration behind the name of their baby son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

    Poor kids fucked already

  9. DocBud beat me to it. Non-profit is a handy virtue-signaller for people who know even the most lax charities body won’t accept their bullshit. It is used by businesses large and small as a false marketing tool.

A marker to declare you are in the business of doing the right thing, even if you’re underpaying staff, taking a massive salary plus car and 5 star travel, or taking money from despots in return for expected favours…

  10. It may be stretcvhing a point, but the true (ie most widely used) definition of arche is “source, origin”, as in archetype. It was rather later that Aristotle amended it to focus on the causative principle

In the philosophical language of the archaic period (8th to 6th century BC), arche (or archai) designates the source, origin or root of things that exist. In ancient Greek philosophy, Aristotle foregrounded the meaning of arche as the element or principle of a thing, which although undemonstrable and intangible in itself, provides the conditions of the possibility of that thing.

How about putting Spud on a panel to vet victims of abusive behaviour by HMRC – eg the way they force companies into liquidation over paltry sums of unpaid PAYE?

  11. Archwank more like.

Harry’s descent into whatever the fuck it is he has become is really shocking and sad. I liked the naked drunk at Vegas pool parties Harry a lot more.

  12. They are “expressives” in the Peter Urs Bender classification system.

    As is Obama.

As is my oldest brother. Very annoying people.

Saying you are going to be ‘non-profit’ doesn’t sound like a good way to court investors.

    ‘a multi-media educational empire’

Commoners aspire to run a business.

They’re probably for brands that wish to be associated with them while their name still holds a teeny tiny bit of star quality. Donors really.

Investors sound like people who might ask questions about management vehicle provision or why 60% of outgoings comes under ‘shoes’.

I liked the naked drunk at Vegas pool parties Harry a lot more.

I suspect he was a bit of a dick too, but at least a bit of a laugh.

  15. That gives food for thought…how about a non-profit involving Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi, Capt Potato and Polly Toynbee. Let’s give the donkey a rest

  16. Dennis, He Who Is Not Easily Amused

Next? Harry and Meghan join Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night on the minstrel circuit.

  17. Non-profit = big income, no tax due, all expenses paid for those generously giving their time: big, plush offices, private jets, first class hotels, staff, entertaining allowance, clothing allowance, etc.

  18. Our heath benefits comes with a wellness site, total crap and no one uses it(apart from HR) but it’s one of the pretty value adds that companies have when people are shopping around for a new benefits provider and no doubt helps with ‘stress induced’ stuff as it’s somewhere they can send you to as a first stop.
Of course the people selecting benefits providers are HR which is why the sites all look the way they do.

  19. And meant to add HR are the also the type to love that it includes content from Harry and Meghan including a special thank you message for selecting them in the first place.

  20. So, *he* has had the finest education money can buy, a decent record as an officer, got to have some social and political connections . . .

But this is what *they* are doing?

He couldn’t leverage any of that into at least a mid-level executive job somewhere? Or, heck, open his own small business? Landscaping? General contractor? I mean, real work, stuff that provides value so a man can hold his head up rather than running scams on gullible people.

And I don’t know *why TF* your royals keep marrying Americans.

So, *he* has had the finest education money can buy, a decent record as an officer, got to have some social and political connections . . .

Never underestimate the power of pussy.

And I don’t know *why TF* your royals keep marrying Americans.

Never underestimate the power of ‘Merican pussy.

  22. He has a fine education. That doesn’t make him clever.

Diana was thick. Worse, she was very unwise, especially about relationships.

    The father was no thinker.

The apple never falls too far away from the tree.

  23. “So, *he* has had the finest education money can buy, a decent record as an officer, got to have some social and political connections . . .

But this is what *they* are doing?

He couldn’t leverage any of that into at least a mid-level executive job somewhere? Or, heck, open his own small business? Landscaping? General contractor? I mean, real work, stuff that provides value so a man can hold his head up rather than running scams on gullible people.”

Personally, I think he’s rather thick. I think he doesn’t really grasp the thing of getting paid for doing things for people. He wants to do things (like charity work), but he can’t really add any value except by doing the same thing he was doing for the monarchy, which was being a face that turns up for PR events. At which point, you’re a public figure, and property of the media.

You’d think that someone aged 35 who’d been in the firm for his whole life would get this. You’re not a special fucking snowflake who gets to do what he wants. You get a package deal. Loads of money, some influence and the ability to do some good things of your own, but in exchange, you have to cut some ribbons, do a lot of boring stuff and face press scrutiny. And you don’t get the first without the second. Lots of young men would trade working in an Amazon warehouse and no press scrutiny for not worrying about paying the bills and getting to be nuts deep in lingerie models.

Maybe this is what he needs, though. He’s going to do roughly the same job in the private sector, only it’ll be more demanding, less amateurish. If he thinks this is going to be nicer than the fawning royal correspondents, he’s going to get a real shock. Maybe at the end of it, he dumps his wife and finds something he actually likes doing with his life.

  24. Chester Draws,

“He has a fine education. That doesn’t make him clever.”

Lots of correlation in education. Successful parents send their kids to private schools and they do well. Block the thickest kids from getting in with entrance exams, kick out the troublemakers and buy in smart poor kids with scholarships and you get good results.

  25. The Meissen Bison

BoM4 – I was with you until the last line: Maybe at the end of it, he dumps his wife and finds something he actually likes doing with his life. The script-writers won’t buy this. The poor sap will be the dumpee.

As to education, there may have been some manipulation to get the Windsor boys to the school on the other side of the Thames. Their father attended Gordonstoun which may not have had the formality of an entrance exam and their mother was never embarassed by sitting a public examination though it must be said that she looked prettier on a minefield than Clare Short.

That said, it’s possible to be academically inept without necessarily being thick but Harry doesn’t appear to qualify for this exemption. He hasn’t even the gift of silence.

  26. @TMB

How irretrievably messed up would one have to be to turn to these two for emotional support?

Exactly. Harry’s last private jet then speech was how much he still needed emotional support – thus he married his new Mummy

I’d add: incredibly inept timing to launch their “Look At Me” stupid SJW WokeWell self-publicity money-grubbing racket

I’d love EIIR to use this as final nail in coffin and strip Harry of Dukedom

It’s becoming more of a joke everyday. Sick of my hard earned taxes funding this corrupt rabble

    @DocBud

I take it this will be one of those non-profits that pays humongous salaries

Of course, and no money left to do any ‘charitable’ work – plenty of them in UK inc iirc Dianne Abbot’s

    @Dennis

    Agree

  27. @TMB

That said, it’s possible to be academically inept without necessarily being thick but Harry doesn’t appear to qualify for this exemption. He hasn’t even the gift of silence

Agree. I know several “expensively educated” academically inept successful peeps – they have ability to think for themselves. Harry was perfect in Army: follow orders. Now he follows orders from his new mummy

  28. “though it must be said that she looked prettier on a minefield than Clare Short”

OK, but not exactly a challenge…

  29. When the inevitable divorce comes, as surely it must, can you imagine just how big her payoff will be from “sources”, in order to keep her trap shut and not have the rags print “her story”?

  30. This is good

…Yesterday they took pains to explain why we should. And that Archewell was not only their future, it had informed their past, too. ‘Before Sussex Royal, came the idea of Arche – the Greek word meaning source of action,’ said the Sussexes in a statement. ‘We connected to this concept for the charitable organisation we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name.’

Did it really? Let’s be frank here. Harry wasn’t exactly noted as a Greek scholar at Eton, while I imagine Meghan’s knowledge of the subject begins and ends with how much feta she wants in her Greek salad. I could be wrong! As Plutarch once almost said, judge ye not the Duke and Duchess of Do-Good until the virtue of their harvest is fully reaped on the Oprah show.

Yet the problem with the Sussexes is that, in such a short time, they have become increasingly preposterous. Just listen to them earnestly elaborating on their Archewell aims: ‘To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon.’

So far the only deep resources Harry and Meghan have drawn upon are Prince Charles’s bank accounts. I mean, who are they trying to fool? The current global health crisis has made many take stock, and to focus with piercing clarity on what is really important; family, health, love and safety.

One of the results of this is that it throws a harsh light on the kind of virtue signalling, woke values and empty words of people like Harry and Meghan, exposing the aching vacuity at the heart of their endeavours. ‘We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right,’ they say. Couldn’t they have waited until the time was right to tell us they were going to wait until the time was right to tell us?…

Absolute drivel from the pair of them. Son named After the organisation – bollocks
