Oh, Tee Hee, Tee Hee indeedMay 6, 2020 Tim WorstallSex42 CommentsSo, this is from some odd site – written by a Slav I would say, given the English on it. But what funwhat fun: The problem is who she has been associating with and when. But it might not be just Ferguson that’s the problem – St Greta supporter? previousOK, it’s only a picture caption but stillnextNot quite right 42 thoughts on “Oh, Tee Hee, Tee Hee indeed” philip May 6, 2020 at 7:18 am She scrubs up OK, can’t see what she saw in a spavined little twerp like him. It’s a pose for most of them. jollygreenman May 6, 2020 at 7:20 am Neil was just showing her the difference between 6 inches and 6 feet Bloke in North Dorset May 6, 2020 at 7:51 am “Avaaz is a non-profit organisation” That’s all we need to know to fill in all the blanks: Middle class upbringing, comfortable existence. Probably private school. Left wing activism. Green authoritarianism (but I repeat myself). Publicly funded either 1st or 2nd order via grants or campaign funding. No spending accountability, enjoy foreign travel and big expense account. If female: a hobby, if male: a beta male in it for the females. Rob May 6, 2020 at 8:07 am “non-profit organisation” they don’t declare a profit because they pay themselves the money in salaries and expenses. philip May 6, 2020 at 8:12 am The burning question of the hour. Surreptitious Evil May 6, 2020 at 8:29 am “non-profit organisation” they don’t declare a profit because they pay themselves the money in salaries and expenses. Fairly accurately describes my Ltd company 😉 Although we did make a technical profit the last couple of years. Sufficient retained losses that we didn’t pay corporation tax, thankfully. Will need to look at the pay versus dividend taxation regime this year 🙁 bilbaoboy May 6, 2020 at 8:38 am SE But you work to get clients don’t you? MC May 6, 2020 at 8:46 am I don’t really care if she is a lizard working for the Rothschilds, there’s no conspiracy here. Only a blatant example of how lockdown is for the plebs only. A year from now it will be clear the direct effect of COVID-19 was comparable to a bad flu season, only with no children dying, and that lockdowns had no effect. By that time, governments and supranational organisations will have forced all sorts of totalitarian shit on us. MC May 6, 2020 at 8:51 am CS Lewis –Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. This seems very apt when considering the increasingly-sinister Bill Gates. When he was just a robber baron turning Microsoft into the world’s biggest company, his cupidity did indeed get satiated. Unfortunately he then decided to use his wealth and power for ‘good’. We might all have been better off if he’d spaffed all his loot on divorces and yachts. Jack the dog May 6, 2020 at 9:05 am A million upticks for MC. Roué le Jour May 6, 2020 at 9:12 am MC You won’t have to wait a year. The “2nd wave” theory is predicated on the lockdown having achieved something. If the lockdown did nothing, then there will be no uptick when it is ended. Watch the curves. Jim May 6, 2020 at 9:50 am Its beginning to look like the virus mutated around the end of Feb, and Europe (and NY) copped the more infectious version (https://www.zerohedge.com/health/coronavirus-mutates-now-dominant-more-contagious-form-doctors-ponder-east-coast-vs-west) Hence the sudden rise in UK cases through March and April. The initial Wuhan strain was less infectious it seems, which would tie in with my theory that it has been in the West since before Christmas, floating around in the background but not enough people getting it to generate any obvious rise in deaths etc. If this is the case, then the lockdown probably did little use, as it came at a point when the the new infectious version was just about peaking in infection terms, though the illnesses and deaths would take longer to come down the pipe of course. My feeling is there won’t be a second wave, its now largely blown through the population to the extent it will, and its reached its natural limits of infection. Chernyy_Drakon May 6, 2020 at 9:56 am Until it mutates again. As viruses are wont to do. The fact it appears to have mutates at least once in only a few months shows this virus is going to become just another flu. Maybe a bit nastier, but it isn’t going anywhere. Chris May 6, 2020 at 10:39 am As Guido observes, who can blame him for massaging his Staats? Steve May 6, 2020 at 10:42 am MC – well said Mr Ecks May 6, 2020 at 11:03 am https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfWOUgHSq24 dearieme May 6, 2020 at 12:29 pm I dare say the ease of mutation to something nastier was what frightened the CPP into its closing down their country, or at least some of it, for so long. That’s assuming that the scientists who let the bloody thing out of their lab briefed the politicos on this risk. That’s assuming that it did escape from a lab – perfectly plausible but not remotely certain. Jim May 6, 2020 at 12:32 pm “The fact it appears to have mutates at least once in only a few months shows this virus is going to become just another flu. Maybe a bit nastier, but it isn’t going anywhere.” At which point the government is going to have to come clean with the bed wetters and tell them there’s nothing Big Brother can do to protect them from it and its up to them to get on with their lives. There will be no magic bullet that makes everything go back to how it used to be, and thats that. Oh, and pass laws that exempt any business from being sued by anyone who catches it while working or as a customer. Otherwise the H&S freaks will demand that everything is disinfected from here to eternity and we all wear bio-hazard suits to go outside. PJF May 6, 2020 at 12:39 pm …there’s no conspiracy here. Only a blatant example of how lockdown is for the plebs only. Don’t entirely agree. I think it’s a case of Ferguson knowing full well that his arguments are wrong (bullshit) and thus his behaviour doesn’t matter. If he genuinely believed that this virus and pandemic are as bad as he states, he wouldn’t go against mitigation measures. All these people are stuck by their own corruption and stupidity, trying to engineer a convincing looking retreat. We all suffer at their indulgence. That’s the conspiracy. Mr Ecks May 6, 2020 at 12:49 pm This little scandal is a tad too convenient. Ferg vanishes under a little cloud thus–he hopes–getting out before a much larger cloud (which is clearly heading towards all the major actors in this mess) arrives overhead. Doubt it will work though considering his rubbish has had a worldwide negative effect. Roué le Jour May 6, 2020 at 1:15 pm PJF Even if Ferguson believed it was dangerous, it would still be true that as long as we’re all locked down it’s perfectly safe for him to go out. The police seem to be taking a similar view. jgh May 6, 2020 at 1:51 pm Mr Evil: accurately describes my sole tradership as well. After 20 years I’ve only just started taking “drawings” from it. PF May 6, 2020 at 1:55 pm I’m not trying to defend him, and particularly given how incompetently he has misled this Government (to give him the benefit of the doubt), but – he has had CV (tested positive), and hence he might reasonably claim that there was zero risk, to either him or her. Dave Ward May 6, 2020 at 2:08 pm “If the lockdown did nothing, then there will be no uptick when it is ended. Watch the curves” It’s not happening in Germany or Austria: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11559366/coronavirus-germany-second-wave-infection-rate-lockdown/?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=sunmaintwitter&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1588757415 https://www.9news.com.au/world/coronavirus-restrictions-europe-no-virus-spike-after-austrian-reopening/e56c2c80-b6ef-4682-b336-435fd78f42af Theophrastus May 6, 2020 at 3:04 pm Ferguson’s hypocrisy is delicious – do as I say, not as I do…restrictions are for the populace, not the expert planners. Ferguson can shag his mistress, but John Doe must abstain. More broadly, I fail to see why Ferguson has any academic credibility when so many of his predictions have been hopelessly wrong. Finally, Ecksy, why are conspiracy theories always your preferred explanation? Ummmm May 6, 2020 at 3:22 pm @Jim Perhaps what we are seeing is the second more virulent wave, the first getting lost in normal flu season As for biohazard suits I have seen people arguing that you should wear a mask on the beach Ummmm May 6, 2020 at 3:24 pm That first line (number 4) sounds like something out of a dodgy ad for personal services Roué le Jour May 6, 2020 at 4:10 pm Telegraph is reporting lockdown ends Sunday? Mr Ecks May 6, 2020 at 4:50 pm Pulling a stunt to get out before the wrath falls is not a conspiracy Theo. It is not much of a ploy but jumping before he is pushed is just a self-preservation gambit. Not a good one as I say. Having left his job under a cloud might –in this age of “lessons have been learned” save him from worse. But the worldwide dollar cost of his bullshit is vast and TPTB will want someone NOT them to carry the can. While I doubt he will have an accident etc–I DO expect that he will be publicly–if only metaphorically –disembowelled . We can no longer run our strategy on secret advice and potentially flawed calculations” Hugely irresponsible & asinine of Govs to accept his results at face value, despite his previous massively failed models. Even more so given the Lockdown’s huge cost to UK: £2.4 Billion per day PJF May 7, 2020 at 12:03 am …but – he has had CV (tested positive)… There seems to be only his mea culpa statement that he tested positive. Roué le Jour May 7, 2020 at 12:57 am djc Thanks for that interesting link, demonstrating once again the uncanny similarity between climate and covid scares. Bloke in North Dorset May 7, 2020 at 7:02 am Did this character ever release his program coding for responsible people to have a go at reviewing? It just happens that I was reading one last night, and its quite damming. Non-deterministic outputs. Due to bugs, the code can produce very different results given identical inputs. They routinely act as if this is unimportant. This problem makes the code unusable for scientific purposes, given that a key part of the scientific method is the ability to replicate results. Without replication, the findings might not be real at all – as the field of psychology has been finding out to its cost. Even if their original code was released, it’s apparent that the same numbers as in Report 9 might not come out of it. Non-deterministic outputs may take some explanation, as it’s not something anyone previously floated as a possibility. … Conclusions. All papers based on this code should be retracted immediately. Imperial’s modelling efforts should be reset with a new team that isn’t under Professor Ferguson, and which has a commitment to replicable results with published code from day one. On a personal level, I’d go further and suggest that all academic epidemiology be defunded. This sort of work is best done by the insurance sector. Insurers employ modellers and data scientists, but also employ managers whose job is to decide whether a model is accurate enough for real world usage and professional software engineers to ensure model software is properly tested, understandable and so on. Academic efforts don’t have these people, and the results speak for themselves. There’s a lot more like that first example. Theophrastus May 7, 2020 at 7:39 am “Pulling a stunt to get out before the wrath falls is not a conspiracy Theo. It is not much of a ploy but jumping before he is pushed is just a self-preservation gambit.” Of course, it’s a conspiracy – the conspiracy is in the alleged motivation. Sarah Wollaston and Alastair Campbell are both pushing a similar line to yours. You keep strange company! Mr Ecks May 7, 2020 at 8:47 am It is all just a tad convenient don’t you think Theo? That this mess arises to have him leave under a cloud just as it is ever more obvious that a vastly larger and darker cloud of economic misery is hoving into view? That he might think a lesser disgrace might serve to deflect much worse heading his way? Dumb as he is he MUST have enough grey matter to realise the search will now be on for scapegoats. As I say it is a puny plan but it could be a plan. He might even have dropped the dime on himself for all I know. He must know that his days porking Miss Leftist are coming to an end–she will try to get herself out from under his mess also.I don’t care if Pissartist Campbell had the same idea. It is hardly a leap of genius to anyone with due and appropriate suspicion of this world. Unless you think having such a belief is also a conspiracy Theo. No–I can’t prove it. But someone like you who calls himself a Tory but year after year funds BluLabour dross who hate and undermine everything he supposedly stands for–perhaps needs to try thinking outside the box. Sargon ‘s latest piece has an account of a Chinese researcher in the US who was about to announce his conclusions as to the CCPvirus origin–and has now been shot dead by another Chinese who then committed suicide. Obviously another set of co-incidences Theo–happens all the time. Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
