Serious stuff here

It seems that you took more interest in the troubles in Northern Ireland because you have a part Irish ancestry.
That pretty well is racism. It’s unavoidable. You take more interest in subjects that connect to your identity which includes your racial background.
Taking the same amount of interest in civil strife in countries with lots of brown people would be indicative of not-racism – but only a Martian could be so impartial.
Adam Smith has written well on this.

Welcome to the banned list

For of course Adam Smith was wrong about everything, having been before Spud invented proper economics. How could someone not be banned for that?

  1. Maybe you should start a sideline in selling badges saying “I was banned by Snippa”. The potential market gets bigger by the day.

  2. I can only repeat my comment from the previous thread.

“Well Spud’s not wrong. It’s people like him that are the reason for it.”

  3. Murphy has perhaps been taking Viagra. 3 of the first 4 commenters on that blog have been banned

  4. ‘Taking the same amount of interest in civil strife in countries with lots of brown people would be indicative of not-racism’

So you have to be a colonialist to be non-racist? Whodafuck is making these rules?

  5. Ritchie using ban hammer lots today

As I read his rant I decided his racism experience is in the eye of the beholder

His reaction to replies confirms this. I’m Irish – Northern – and didn’t experience any racism when family moved to GB in late 70s. Then again, I wasn’t looking for it and behaved same as others

Surname is same as a famous 60s/70s USA TV series lead character – occasional ribbing, nothing bad

  6. I’ve have a Scottish surname. I let people know how cheap I am all the time. Look up parsimony in the dictionary and my picture will be there.

I love how you have to have a highly trained sense of racial difference and outrage to avoid being racist. The reality is children will be children. So anyone called Murphy, even if they have not seen the Emerald Isle for 500 years, is going to be called Paddy. Fat idiots need to deal with it.

But I love the idea that Pcar shares a name with a 70s TV character? Can’t be Huggy Bear. He wasn’t really a leading character. Although that would be cool. How about Kojack?

  8. I went to school with somebody with the surname Murphy, and never twigged it had any connection to Ireland. I can’t remember how it came about, but he was nicknamed Arj (as in Argie).

  9. Sniffle, I didn’t make it to published ban-list

Surname: Persec – confirmation or denial of any suggestions will not happen. If you want to keep guessing, it has Dutch origins (1668) and I might hint if correct

Ribbing – didn’t offend me, but boring when same catch-lines repeated. Ignored or used to my advantage, esp with girls

Same with mates calling me chicken etc for not drinking until drunk, trying drugs – water of ducks back. Schadenfreude was riding shiny new fast bikes and them on dogs
