They’re really going for it, aren’t they?

In a tweeted video message this month, Farage said the UK faced “cultural Marxism”, a term originating in a conspiracy theory based on a supposed plot against national governments, which is closely linked to the far right and antisemitism.

The phrase “cultural Marxism” is now an id of being far right and antisemitic? This is like DeSmog insisting I’m aclimate denier because I recommend a carbon tax.

  1. It’s remarkable that so many UK Jews have uncritically accepted the odd notion that jewish people will be safer in a multi-faith, multi-racial and multi-cultural society. How can 300,000 jews feel safe in a society containing nearly three million muslims?

  2. Indeed, Theo.

The security guards I see outside synagogues and Jewish schools are not there to protect the inmates against such as me.

  3. Saw Paul Mason on about Antonio Gramsci in the New Statesman discussing how to save the lost red wall seats form their false consciousness. Dispiriting to see old Spart is alive and well in the only opposition we have got.
Cultural Marxism was not a secret conspiracy to undermine National Governments, it was, and is, a body of intellectual thought born from the failure of the plebs to rise up against their masters in the Great War. I would not say it was ‘closely’ linked with Antisemitism, which was chiefly concerned with the shadowy conspiracy of International usury ( now called Global Finance or just Bankers )
You have to be careful about the term” far right” here. By the time the Socialist Strasser wing of the Nazis was expelled or dead most of the history of the Nazi Party was run. These two ideas idea are linked by the left and its alliance with Nationalism.
Farrage is using the term in an idiomatic way and probably has no idea what he is saying.
The writer does have a point. The Brexit State have leapt on examples of Political correctness like banning Swing Low and so on, to escalate a supposed cultural war and they do indeed refer to the establishment, as they politically subjugate the Liberal and moderate onstituency who despise them their wrinkled fans and their moronic dupes.
It is not a far right phenomenon however, not if by right you mean Gladstonian Laissez Faire and Free Trade. It is a toxic stew of crap associated hard left and hard right in Opposition to Liberal Internationalism whose deep ties were surfaced in the referendum when Leaves greatest friend was life long Brexiteer the immortal cunt Corbyn

  5. Still regurgitating your tired old shite Facepaint?

BlueLabour have sat on their fat arses and allowed the scummy left to hollow out UK institutions. Inc Thatcher who freaked out over Unions and did fuckall about the scummy middle class left. Resulting in traitorous gutter-spawn scum like you.

Time that was changed by whatever means are needed. But Blojob is more akin to sewage like you than any decent Briton.

  6. Marx was floridly anti-semitic, so disparaging Marxism is obvs anti-anti-semitic, innit?

@Theo: they presumably feel safer with the followers of Mo than with the population of atheists of Christian descent who form the bulk of the population. Which is probably racist.

Come to think of it, if you suspect that British Jews are being betrayed by their purported leaders you might observe that most of us are in the same boat.

(P.S. I suspect that many Britons would balk at the frankness of “atheists” but, bugger it, it’s true. But insert “agnostics” if you prefer.)

  7. How can 300,000 jews feel safe in a society containing nearly three million muslims?

Depends. If you’re an elite Jew, you can behave like an elite Englishman or European – with enough money, you’re not going to experience the stabbier, rapier aspects of diversity, that’s strictly for the proles to worry about.

Of course, most Jews aren’t millionaires and don’t feel safe. But human beans aren’t rational either. Remember that idiot who wuvved wefugees so much he got stabbed to death by one, and his own father went to the press, braying about how nobody should learn any of those pesky, racist conclusions from his son’s murder?

In the same message, Farage said companies who pulled TV adverts from rightwing TV shows were being pressured by “Soros-funded organisations”.

This seems to be, whatchamacallit… true tho, in’tit? At least I’ve never heard anyone argue otherwise, just seen people called raciss for criticising Soros’s activities.

Writing in a separate Newsweek column, Farage said Black Lives Matter was made up of radical socialists trying to destroy nationalism, “oftentimes funded by globalists”, another term linked to such ideas.

    Also demonstrably true.

Amanda Bowman, vice-president of the Board of Deputies, said: “If Nigel Farage continues to trade in dog whistles and tropes about George Soros and Goldman Sachs, his decline into obscurity will continue apace. Mr Farage would do well to remember that this proud country has always rejected this sort of prejudice and fought wars to defeat it.”

We fought wars so that mobs could vandalise Churchill’s statue and Cambridge professors could declare white lives don’t matter? Blimey.

If she’s worried about Farage declining into obscurity, why release this statement? Are we meant to believe the Board of Deputies of British Jews are trying to help Nigel?

He was also interviewed at least six times by Rick Wiles, a far-right, antisemitic US pastor who subsequently used his web radio show to claim Donald Trump’s impeachment was a “Jew coup”.

So you see, Farage is one of them evil Nazis who can tell the future. Obviously he knew the guy who interviewed him would subsequently use the term “Jew coup”. Bastard probably knows next week’s lottery numbers as well.

Of course, it’s rude to notice that many of the people who tried to enact an illegal coup against the President were indeed more than a bit Hebraic, and the NeverTrump movement is mostly recycled Jewish neoconservatives, and despite President Trump’s philosemitism being more pronounced than normal even by US presidential standards, a yuge number of Jewish commentators hate the guy with psychotic fury and would rather have Barrabas.

  8. “… It’s remarkable that so many UK Jews have uncritically accepted the odd notion that jewish people will be safer in a multi-faith, multi-racial and multi-cultural society.”

Israeli Jews, of course, believe no such thing. Odd that.

” “If Nigel Farage continues to trade in dog whistles and tropes about George Soros and Goldman Sachs, his decline into obscurity will continue apace. ”

Given that it’s an anti-semitic conspiracy theory that Jews have any power to influence politicians or the media, how might this be acheived?

  9. Steve,

“In the same message, Farage said companies who pulled TV adverts from rightwing TV shows were being pressured by “Soros-funded organisations”.

This seems to be, whatchamacallit… true tho, in’tit? At least I’ve never heard anyone argue otherwise, just seen people called raciss for criticising Soros’s activities.”

I don’t think so. I think advertisers like gullible 18-34s and the politics of 18-34 year olds tends to be woker than average. Lifestyle advertising doesn’t work on older people because they’re wiser. They’ve worked out that a Charles Tyrwhitt shirt is as well made as a Ralph Lauren shirt costing 3 times the price. Ben and Jerry’s demographics lean white 18-34s (and particularly under 24) who went to college in the USA. And spending money on ads/marketing really pays off with these people.

  10. At this point, the likes of The Guardian and the Independent are a joke. I used to have disagreements with people in the Indy, but at least they were sensible. They’d start from an accurate position on someone or some organisation and make their case. They’re now like watching one of those old Eisenstein films with comic book capitalists enjoying crushing the poor.

  11. BoM4 – no, that’s not what’s going on at all.

There’s a well funded, well coordinated campaign to starve people like Tucker Carlson of advertising revenue (because, and not despite, him being the biggest draw to Fox News) and to pressure Facebook into banning “hate”, by which they mean conservative content.

“Republicans buy shoes too” no longer applies. This isn’t about the economics of the rag trade, it’s information warfare.

It’s pretty amazing how many woke campaigning organisations are funded by Soros. For example, the next time the Guardian runs a story by some NGO guy accusing Poland or Hungary of being diversity-hating nazis, do a quick Google and you’ll probably find he works for an organisation that receives money from Uncle George.

He’s probably not the Moriarty figure his most voluble critics claim, but his influence is real and no other individual can match it.

  12. “@ dearieme

    Marx was floridly anti-semitic”

    Not ‘arf

“What is the secular basis of Judaism? Practical need, self-interest. What is the worldly religion of the Jew? Huckstering. What is his worldly God? Money. Money is the jealous god of Israel, in face of which no other god may exist. … In the final analysis, the emancipation of the Jews is the emancipation of mankind from Judaism.”

He wrote in “On the Jewish Question” in 1843.

It was of course Hitler who sought the final solution to the “Jewish Question”by enthusiastically seeking the “emancipation of mankind from Judaism”.

Incidentally, when asked if Marx’s shrine in London should be pulled down and thrown in the Thames, Spud said no because these were only Marx’s “views” which are different from actions.

  13. If you follow a few links from the original article (difficult I know as it’s the Graudian) you get to this – https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/jan/19/cultural-marxism-a-uniting-theory-for-rightwingers-who-love-to-play-the-victim

    Which has some prize quotes:

“Their answer was that culture and religion blunted the proletariat’s desire to revolt, and the solution was that Marxists should carry out a “long march through the institutions” – universities and schools, government bureaucracies and the media – so that cultural values could be progressively changed from above.”

Yep, the very definition of Cultural Marxism and why the non-woke despise it.

Which then leads into this bit of bizarre logic:

“The whole story is transparently barmy. If humanities faculties are really geared to brainwashing students into accepting the postulates of far-left ideology, the composition of western parliaments and presidencies and the roaring success of corporate capitalism suggests they’re doing an astoundingly bad job. Anyone who takes a cool look at the last three decades of politics will think it bizarre that anyone could interpret what’s happened as the triumph of an all-powerful left.”

The Long March hasn’t happened because we have a lot of (centre) Right politicians! That’s the point – the people don’t want the Marxist crap because they are not (completely) stupid. The Left can’t win an election so are subverting institutions to ferment revolt from a different direction. Idiot students eventually grow up and become conservative (well, the one’s not a total loss anyway – See the boy Owen Jones for a counter-example).

  14. MrYan

“Idiot students eventually grow up and become conservative”

Unless they end up in academia and/or the public sector where untroubled by “the real world” they can hold on to their idiotic beliefs.

  15. Newmania,

“Saw Paul Mason on about Antonio Gramsci in the New Statesman discussing how to save the lost red wall seats form their false consciousness. Dispiriting to see old Spart is alive and well in the only opposition we have got.”

The problem with most of these people is that they’ve never (or at least haven’t been there since they were kids) really been amongst the working classes. Most of them are school, university, public sector, labour wonking, then The Guardian or the BBC.

I spent years working in banking and places and then did some work for a printing factory. I’ve also worked in a car factory and a factory making parking meters. It’s fascinating to make that move from middle class to more working class places and realise that it’s not the posh tories with the “far right” types of opinion, but the working class. They really don’t want mass migration, they really like law and order, and they really really hate dole scroungers.

  16. Steve,

“There’s a well funded, well coordinated campaign to starve people like Tucker Carlson of advertising revenue (because, and not despite, him being the biggest draw to Fox News) and to pressure Facebook into banning “hate”, by which they mean conservative content.”

OK, I think we got some mixed lines. I agree with that. I’m saying that brands don’t care about opinion in the abstract, but the effect on money and particularly how much more they care about young consumers who generally aren’t reading the Daily Mail or watching Fox News. If you were selling bibles and guns, you’d still advertise on Fox News.

One thing I think is that the likes of Facebook and Google have become more censorious as they got more “brand” ads rather than “information” ads. Google used to be a lot about just small businesses hitting a niche and if you’re small, you’re just telling people you exist or have a product, not selling a lifestyle dream. Those advertisers care less about demographics. Lifestyle ads want the young people who think they’ll become a composer if they buy a Mac.

The conclusion I’m coming to is that the “right” is going to have to go back to blogging and RSS feeds. Maybe running on donations and subscriptions, or using ad companies that don’t mind your opinions.

  17. Ben and Jerry’s demographics lean white 18-34s

I doubt there’s anyone lean in the Ben & Jerry’s eating demographic.

For those who can’t be bothered to read the entire guardian piece, here are the salient bits:

It’s a “Look! Over there! A badger!” exercise on behalf of the Labour Party.

George Soros is probably the single biggest threat to Western Civilisation. It is a bitter shame that he’s Jewish as it gives him and the organisations he funds excellent cover. Presumably his Jewishness is not a big thing for him, as he cheerfully funds a lot of Jew-hating organisations.

  18. So Much For Subtlety

Theophrastus June 29, 2020 at 9:02 am – “How can 300,000 jews feel safe in a society containing nearly three million muslims?”

It is self evident that Jews will prefer a multicultural multiracial society. Assimilation is Britain’s Jews big problem. And of course they feel safe because they stand behind many distinctly British policemen and soldiers. The Muslims want/will have to kill us first.

  19. The Meissen Bison

MC: It’s a “Look! Over there! A badger!” exercise on behalf of the Labour Party.

I read it more as an over-cooked hatchet job masquerading as a news item. The heading and first four paragraphs have two “far-right conspiracy theories” and four “antisemitic/antisemitisms” in eighteen lines of print.

For the fun of it,in the post above I filleted out everything that wasn’t “far-right” or “antisemitic”. The piece is quite indigestible and has the brass neck to accuse Nigel Farage of dog-whistling.

  20. Mr Yan–Calling Jellyballs Johnson a “conservative” is a prize example of Marxist lie-hype.

A car grabbing ecofreak, nation ruining sack of BlueLabour shite who speaks against patriots protecting our statues and sucks Black Marxist Matter’s dick.

But the triumph of Korporate Kulture.

    Yeah–right. Krony Korporate Socialism perhaps.

  21. It’s fascinating to make that move from middle class to more working class places and realise that it’s not the posh tories with the “far right” types of opinion, but the working class.

Bingo. Coming from my local comprehensive through to a professional career in London it was bloody weird. Meeting all these ultra posh adult only-childs with ultra left wing views professing that it’s only the even posher people who are dastardly right wingers.

The other shift you notice is that the working class are happy to chat politics with people they disagree with and accept that their mates may have different views. The posh adults less so.

  22. The problem with most of these people is that they’ve never (or at least haven’t been there since they were kids) really been amongst the working classes.

I think that would be a bit unfair on Paul Mason , talks utter shit about politics and economics but was into Northern Soul as lad,His documentary on ti is about the only good thing he ever did .

  23. “It was of course Hitler who sought the final solution”

    [citation needed]

Reinhard Heydrich, with encouragement from Göring, was the main driver. Hitler was fine with it – he is even alleged to have recommended Zyclon B.

Heydrich was the principal, not Hitler.

  24. I doubt Tucker Carlson gets many 18-34 year old viewers. He appeals to an older, more rational, audience.

  25. “How can 300,000 jews feel safe in a society containing nearly three million muslims?” You want an honest answer to that, Theo?

Jews are multiculturalists because they see Judaism as being multicultural. There are British Jews & American Jews & Italian Jews & Russian Jews & of course Israeli Jews & there would be more German & Polish Jews but for… And they’re all different cultures & they’re all Jews. It’s the default mode. So if they’re not multicultural what are they? Do they have to choose? Americans or Jews? Brits or Jews…?

And Jews are drawn to socialism because Jewish culture is very socialist. From each according to his abilities. To each according to their needs. They’ll take pride in supporting the parasitic rabinical scholars endlessly disputing the finer parts of the Torah. A Jew in need is a Jew in need of help from another Jew. And a Jew is there to help a Jew. Tribe of Israel
And Jews are optimistic. Jewish optimism is the punchline of most Jewish jokes. The ones Jews tell.
So you put the three together. Socialism, as it defines itself, is wedded to multiculturalism because Jews had a great deal of influence on the development of socialism. Jews still believe in being part of socialism & influencing socialism & they’re optimistic about success.
If Jews were sensible people they wouldn’t be Jews. The overwhelming historical evidence is that it’s not an individual survival policy. Like you don’t get many followers of Odin around. But if the you believe your god parted the Red Sea so you didn’t get your feet wet….

  26. “How can 300,000 jews feel safe in a society containing nearly three million muslims?”
It’s likely that a quarter of the Muslims are Ahmadis, and a good fraction of the rest are assorted Shi-ites and nominal Muslims. Those that are left are not going to cause significant endangerment. Even less if we can ban any future asylum applications and just accept economic migrants only with NRTPF stamped on their visas.
Worldwide the people with most to fear from Muslims are other Muslims who don’t see things in the same Islamic way as the bullying literalists.

  27. @ Bongo

Well, we have approximately 39,000 non far right people on the terror watch list which sounds like enough to cause significant endangerment to me.
