What an appalling job

The number of cases traced to host clubs – where women pay to talk to male employees over drinks and snacks – and similar establishments in Tokyo has risen since Japan lifted its seven-week state of emergency at the end of May, raising fears of a second wave in the city.

Given that a usual male attitude is to put up with the chat and the drinks in order to – well, you know – imagine a world in which it’s only the drinks and the chat…..

Still, money……

  1. I came across this on a tourist trip to Japan last year. There is a big poster for one of these establishments near Dotonbori in Osaka. All the guys look like 17-year olds. I checked it out on the net when we got back. It’s apparently very competitive for lads wanting to get into it so the rewards, both monetary & sexual must be worth the effort. You hear about gigolos & male escorts over here but I guess it’s not really like the Japanese experience here.

Drinks and chit chat are what you put up with just to get to the sex. I expect that men would prefer to go straight to the sex – and I have never heard anyone complain a prostitute did not talk enough.

I would be surprised if these boys were getting a lot of sex. They presumably have to stick to the chit chat.

My question would be if there is a racial preference in what they have to say. Judging by the few books written by African American pimps, what Black women want to hear is pretty rough and perhaps a little beyond what White girls would like. By and large. Do Japanese girls prefer an even softer line? I hope one of them writes a book

Working from experience rather than fevered imagination, SMfS, that’s far from the truth. Many value the experience of being in the company of an attractive, attentive girl over sex. It’s the girls try to sell the sex because they make more money in the time expended.

In Kabukicho, some of the main clients of the host clubs are the girls who have been working in the hostess clubs: when they finish their shifts they come to spend some of the money they’ve made on getting the same treatment in reverse.

Here in Thailand some bar girls visit karaokes for the same reason.

Not now, of course. Pattaya is completely shut down and may never recover from COVID-19.

Good grief, Mr Subtlety, in the study of your ramshackle library, you have books written by African American pimps?

Asking for a friend, where does one even go to discover these literary luxuries?

He didn’t get his cognomen by being fond of lettuce–not actual lettuce that is.

m’Lud: To Kill A **cking Bird is a classic of the genre or Uncle Tom’s Cabrank which is about lawyers so interpreting ‘pimp’ in its wider sense.
