And yet sex goes on

Police officers are killing Black people, Covid-19 is killing all people, and poverty and unemployment are reaching giddy heights around the world. Communities and victims’ families are asking us to amplify photos of Black people who’ve died in custody such as Tanya Day, David Dungay and George Floyd. And a local campaign to raise the age of criminal responsibility from 10 to 14 is encouraging people to post childhood pics of themselves and sign a petition so Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids stop being sent to prison at alarming rates.

Terrible things are happening out there. We get you.

So it was with incredulity that this Tuesday past I watched as a rapidly increasing number of women on my Instagram feed posted beautiful photos of themselves. Of course, hot selfies are the bricks upon which the house of Instagram is built, so this alone wouldn’t have piqued my interest.

But these were different. These stood out. They were all black and white, they were all aggressively artful and they almost universally opened with #ChallengeAccepted. Each woman acknowledged having been “challenged” by another woman and subsequently nominated 10 more. Most praised “strong women”, exalted empowerment and ended with #WomenSupportingWomen.

These weren’t just random selfies. This was a movement. But for what?

While the intention seems pure and intellectually feminist-lite, there was, at first at least, no groundbreaking or even mildly new point being made. The overarching message seemed simply to be that women are beautiful and wonderful and we should help each other out. But as an awareness campaign, it seemed futile at best. We’re already aware.

Hmm. Our lassie seems not to have met many actual humans. Nor quite understood what drives them. Which is, as with all other animals, to have grandchildren. Which means making the most of whatever assets one has to gain and keep a mate to have them with and to aid in raising them. That’s actually the base game of the species.

This, often enough, going into hyperdrive the worse the surrounding environment is.

‘E was right you know, eppur si muove but it’s sex that makes the world go ’round.

  1. So Much For Subtlety

Presumably they did not mean that a campaign to stop Aboriginee children going to prison was a bad thing.

But this is interesting for the way that the modern world has distorted the signal and hence side tracked evolution. We see this most clearly with contraception – sex was supposed to lure us in and make sure we reproduced. But technology has cut the link so we are well on our way to extinction.

With selfies, evolution, more or less, meant for women to attract the admiration of a good man, or a few good men, and have children. But women can get the good parts of a relationship – sex starved men sucking up to them on the internet and telling them how beautiful they are – without actually needing to commit to so much as a date much less a blowjob. So they aren’t even doing the sex part to get a man to get pregnant. They are getting too much positive affirmation online.

    It is weird.

You can see where this is going – last year, married men got less sex than single men in America. And a lot of single men are whacking off to porn so not much sex for the singles either.

  2. But as an awareness campaign, it seemed futile at best.

All awareness campaigns are futile. Look at the stupid bitch writing this, she thinks that a tiny handful of black people killed by the police is tragic but seems unaware of the thousands of black people killed by other blacks.

  3. Awareness campaigns aren’t exactly futile. They’re make-work. Useful for the people who do them.

  4. About David Dungay:

    https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/opinion/andrew-bolt/andrew-bolt-black-lives-matter-protesters-ignore-truth-on-david-dungays-death/news-story/7778af710a21e96dbcf8be1d9a3348ca

Dungay already had a lengthy criminal record, including robberies with violence and a weapon, before he was jailed for the attempted rape of his girlfriend, just 16.

He’d tried to sodomise her, then beat her with a broomstick, chased her with a brick and punched her in the head.

Dungay was also jailed over an armed robbery. He and three mates broke into a house, where they found a 61-year-old man, his sick wife and his 91-year-old mother in law. They bashed and stabbed the man so badly that he needed 27 stitches.

Why do many journalists omit this background? It doesn’t justify Dungay’s death, but does show he wasn’t jailed just because of “over policing” or racist police.

  5. And a bit more:

As the coroner put it: Dungay has comorbidities “which predisposed him to the risk of cardiac arrhythmia such as longstanding poorly controlled type I diabetes, hyperglycaemia, prescription of antipsychotic medication … elevated body mass index, a degree of likely hypoxaemia caused by prone restraint, and extreme stress and agitation as a result of the events”.

So this is the real “symbol of the Black Lives Matter movement”: a violent thief and woman beater who dies in a struggle with warders trying to stop him eating himself to death.

This the case that Black Lives Matter claims shows our police and warders are racists who kill Aborigines just for eating biscuits.

Yet almost no journalists challenged that smear. Nor did the Prime Minister or NSW Premier.

  6. Which is, as with all other animals, to have grandchildren.

If only, Tim, if only. All of my mates and a sib got married and had children, yet nary a grandchild between us.

  7. This is a self solving problem. Woke populations will shrink. Non-woke ones less so. At some point the empty places will get filled up with more shall we say ‘patriarchical’ societies. We’re living through a period of peak feminism right now – but it will self correct. Girls can choose to avoid sex today. In 50 or 100 years time? Less so!

  8. OT-But interesting:

“C. Over this last week President Donald Trump did the following, but you probably won’t hear about it in the News – even though he’s changing the world:

    1. Made vaccines voluntary, not mandatory. Military will check purity and distribute vaccines

    2. Defunded WHO forever and wants an investigation into its operations

    3. Cancelled the Democrats HR6666 bill, known as the Covid19TRACE Act that was the basis for Bill Gates’s diagnosis and tracking project, which was also cancelled.

    4. Cancelled Bill Gates project known as ID2020

    5. Opened a complaint platform to report censorship on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. It was overrun with complaints. They got the evidence.

    6. Executive Order to reopen states: Governors who refuse to reopen will be sued.

    7. EXECUTIVE Order for W.H. to take over all Electrical Grids: Which will include Internet servers, Broadcasting systems, Electronic systems.

    8. Declared places of worship ‘Essential Sevices.’ Some mayors are fining people for going to church.

    9. Applauded Australia and 116 countries for insisting on a China Probe into the spread of Covid19 despite several threats from China about refusing critical exports.

    10. Arrested and dismantled Sex/Human Trafficking rings in several countries!”

    Not a bad weeks work.

  9. “Police officers are killing Black people”: in the US they disproportionately kill White people. Disproportionately high, that is to say, compared to their fraction of the criminal population.

  10. “many women have begun using the trend to steer the discussion around to Black Lives Matter…Black and white photos of American women who were killed by police such as Breonna Taylor and Michelle Cusseaux are appearing…”

But not, I guess, Justine Damond

  11. On the subject of self-solving problems it is an irrefutable fact that a large number of women are incapable of posting beautiful selfies on Instagram, black and white or otherwise, because they ain’t beautiful.

It’s is a less irrefutable but still likely fact that at the individual level female beauty is inversely proportional to wokeness.

I don’t see this going anywhere.

  12. “eppur si muove”

Going off at a tangent here, but there is no actual evidence that Galileo said that. The first mention is over a hundred years after his death.

  13. Looks like self-indulgent shite layered upon self-indulgent shite.

Instagram is indeed good though, for hot pics to look at 😉 Long may the lookers be self-indulgent!

Ahh the tragedy of Ashely Judd. When Ms Judd was smoking hot and even made sweating look sexy, you did not hear a political peep out of her. Now, well, it is hard to be charitable but let’s see her best days are behind her. Long behind her.

Of course, nothing says “Take me seriously as a woman of strength and depth” like a good bikini/negligee selfie shot in the bathroom.

Personally, when it comes to the strength of the woman, I’ve always considered a 38DD in a thong bikini as being stronger than a 32C in a pants suit, and expressed my admiration for said strength accordingly.

Now, well, it is hard to be charitable but let’s see her best days are behind her. Long behind her.

That’s not the only thing behind her these days. Lay off the donuts, girl.

  18. For every hot leftie like the Aussie there are at least a dozen munters. Usually waiting impatiently for the buffet to open,

  19. Out of interest, is it actually possible to be more intellectually lightweight than having an Instagram feed?

  20. “Well behaved women rarely make history, because they’re too busy making the future.”

    Yup. That is bloody brilliant.

Steve, you’re the reincarnation of Plato, as a bumper sticker company.

Out of interest, is it actually possible to be more intellectually lightweight than having an Instagram feed?

How about having a YouTube channel on accounting and economics with 863 subscribers and no video exceeding 1,200 views?

seems unaware of the thousands of black people killed by other blacks

Which we see every day in Portland, Seattle, New York, Chicago, London Etc Etc ..

“I’m Joe biden, and I’m running for … you know … the thing”
    Biden and MSM’s “Peaceful Protesters”
“I support peaceful protesters. Even when they get violent. Even when they riot and loot and burn. Even when they attack police. Even when they attack churches. I’m sure they mean well.”

    Democrats: Berating Barr, befriending rioters

Anyone at all voting Democrat this November (Even if you’re not a fan of the president) Needs their f****ing head examined

I want to know why there is no diversity in the “Squad” not one white person. Hmmm who’re the real racists…

It’s clear after this Democrat inquisition, none of them care if an American dies, only when if serves as a martyr because they couldn’t accept the American people’s Vote in 2016. And I doubt they’ll accept it in November

When was the last time BLM slithered out from under their stone?
    2016 – election year

  23. ‘Communities and victims’ families are asking us to amplify photos of Black people who’ve died in custody such as Tanya Day, David Dungay and George Floyd.’

Tanya Day – arrested for public drunkenness. She beat her own head in cell. Evil police failed to check on her enough.

David Dungay – refused to follow prison guard orders.

George Floyd – under the influence, resisted arrest.

The trainable would get the idea that if you are in custody, don’t act up.

‘Police officers are killing Black people’

An idictment of blacks. Not the police.

  24. “Covid is killing ALL people”

No it bloody isn’t – some 2/3rds are over 80, and 95% of the total have one (or more) underlying health conditions.

  25. @DocBud
The Project called out by BLM for its ‘woke opportunism’ on David Dungay

David Dungay had a criminal record for raping & assaulting women and children, where’s the left calling this out?

The police said they couldn’t protest and would be arresting protesters; then they’re shocked when when the police started arresting protesters. Idiots.

  26. “‘E was right you know, eppur si muove but it’s sex that makes the world go ’round.”

I thought it was fat-bottomed girls.
