Almost 3 billion animals affected by Australian megafires, report shows
There’s a lot of the buggers about. Perhaps we’re not wiping them all out then?

Their own linked article saying one billion were at risk included insects in that total,
The new one doesn’t mention insects but has somehow come up with 2.5 billion reptiles.
I think they’re making it up as they go.
Having seen some of their insects, I don’t think they’re much loss, quite frankly.

They’ll grow back.
Omnia moriatur.
More reptiles than insects. They are making it up
We were told the same story last time Australia burst into flames.
Strange that environmentalists love the environment at its most natural until they actually get the environment at its most natural.
I haven’t noticed any difference. Still I cheered when Campbell-Newman ‘temporarily’ began spraying the swamps after the big drought broke.
The mosquito problem around my house dropped drastically. So far the Brisbane City Council hasn’t dared to stop this. No doubt they’re afraid they’d lose too many votes.
The tone of reporting is they all Died
The new, new one on 19:00 C4 News doesn’t mention insects but has somehow come up with 2.8 billion reptiles
Then towards end on C4, slipped in “over 2 Billion displaced” I think they’re making it up as they go
Maybe they’ll let farmers manage their land again
PS Did any cockroaches die?
“until they actually get the environment at its most natural”
Correct. Man abhors death. Nature couldn’t care less. “Kill all you want; I’ll grow more.”
@Gamecock
Precisely. There’s now little competition for those left who will breed like rabbits (especially the rabbits). The shorter the breeding cycle the faster they will recover. Small things with short breeding cycles will recover fastest, in many cases providing abundant food for bigger things.
I googled australian bush fires at the time. They happen often enough that nature has a recovery plan that doesn’t require woke snowflakes crying about how terrible man is.
@ John
“I think they’re making it up as they go.”
It’s all computer game garbage out
Death is just an arc in the never ending cycle.
