Men die, women hardest hit

Just like every emergency, every disaster, Covid-19 absolutely does discriminate. It’s ageist, it’s racist, it’s classist and it’s worst of all for those with pre-existing health conditions or disabilities.

It also affects men and women differently, with more men than women dying directly from the virus. However, this is only the first part of the story. Because of societal policies, the socio-economic impacts of the virus are hitting women hardest.

Do bugger off Love.

As we might put it, I get to die and Helen has to suffer going to the funeral.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Plane crashes, fires, earthquakes, terrorism, floods….?

  3. The loss of income bit translates as “a lot of women aren’t entitled to government furlough/self-employed assistance because they were dodging tax by not declaring their income”.
philip is quite right: all the natural disasters are indiscriminate in their action – but terrorists kill more men than women and far more firemen than firewomen get killed fighting fires.

The essence of terrorism is that it is indiscriminate. That it kills more men than women, more jews than muslims, more adults than children, etc. is a random variable. There are exceptions; the Manchester Arena bombing, Palestinian attacks on Israeli buses spring to mind.
But you are right about people fighting disasters, because it is generally men who do the fighting. Likewise with industrial accidents.

Well yes. Diseases discriminate. Lung cancer disproportionately hits smokers. Worse, the more you smoke the more likely you are to get it. Cervical cancer disproportionately hits women who sleep around and breast cancer non-East-Asian nuns. Heart attacks are more likely to hit fat middle aged men.

So what? Why would anyone care? Don’t be a fat slob with poor personal hygiene. That is, be White and middle class.

This is just a re-statement of Hillary Clinton’s comment at a First Lady’s conference in El Salvador where she said women were the primary victims of war because their husbands and sons died.

An option always open to women but one, I note, women rarely take.

Most terrorists discriminate because it helps their cause to do so. Killing men tends to cause fear, killing women tends to cause revulsion and hatred, so they mostly kill men.

  8. Obviously the virus should be prosecuted with the full force of the law. And no doubt Matrix Chambers would be happy to defend.

  9. “This is just a re-statement of Hillary Clinton’s comment at a First Lady’s conference in El Salvador where she said women were the primary victims of war because their husbands and sons died.”
Well, besides the WTF element, she seemed also to forget that a “son” has two parents, and only one of them is a woman.

  10. “and it’s worst of all for those with pre-existing health conditions or disabilities.”

Well yes, dear… This is called a “weakness” , which something without the capacity for Wokeness, or even any sort of feeling will mercilessly exploit.
Because that is “life” , that lovely invention of your precious Mother Nature. Who, incidentally, does not give a toss about your Wokeness.

If you read two lines of the text you will find that the attack produced a response in the Afghan government forces going onto the offensive to attack the terrorists.
    So: yes – and that.

    But, but, but …
The father doesn’t suffer from his son dying because he’s already been killed.
Obviously Killary doesn’t know the difference between primary and secondary.
