‘We should have the right not to like men’: the French writer at centre of literary storm
Difficult to explain modern society without agreeing that this is the cornerstone of the system of organisation.
Of course, if misandry is just peachy then so is misogyny….to argue otherwise would be cakeism.
As a man, I don’t have a problem with this. You should be permitted to hate anyone, for any reason. You should even be allowed to tell the world of that hatred. What you should not be allowed to do is to translate that hatred into physical violence.
Jonathan is right!
“Reverend!”
To be fair to the frogs (why?) the objection was not to the specific nature of the hate but to the accompanying incitement to violence.

But that is not the world we live in. We live in a world where there are second class citizens and first class citizens. It is a crime to offend the first class citizens. It is not a crime to offend the second class ones – the ones who hold beliefs that are not worthy of respect to quote a recent Court decision.
So it most of Europe it is a crime to doubt the Holocaust. In Britain it is a serious social offense, if not a crime, to suggest slavery was not genocidal. It is almost a crime to suggest that women have an X and a Y chromosome. You are certainly not allowed the same protections everyone else is if you think so
The question is how long will the second class citizens tolerate this.
‘We live in a world where there are second class citizens and first class citizens. It is a crime to offend the first class citizens.’
This is of course the reason for all the vilification. To make sure the second class know their place, and stay there.
“We should have the right not to like French writers.”
Fixed it.
She’s married!
Rowdy September 10, 2020 at 10:23 am – “She’s married!”
Well that explains it then
She’s just echoing the line from When Harry Met Sally, about how men and women can’t truly be friends because men only want one thing. I don’t see anything original in her argument.
At least she isn’t decrying all men while simultaneously demanding entry to a men-only club.

Indeed we do, but how do we get from where we are now to where we should be? I don’t know, does anybody?
I didn’t realise that we needed the right to dislike something or somebody. All this time I’ve been doing it wrong, liking and disliking willy nilly, without a care for what I might have the right to dislike.
Is there a list somewhere so I can make sure I’m not disliking something I don’t have the right to dislike? Is Marmite on the list?
Cakeism, it is, then.
The fems already have that right & exercise it often. Ask most married men.
My wife was furious & stormed out of the house slamming the door. When she didn’t return I reported her missing the next day. After a week the police came by & told me to prepare for the worst. So, I went to GoodWill & brought all her clothes back.
🙂
Thanks Tex. I found that one hilarious.

It will involve Mr. Ecks, piano wire, gunpowder, and a lot of bleach.
Some of the second class types are disengaging cuz they don’t don’t like the deal they’ve got, look up MGTOW, but be aware it’s not a Google favorite, so the first few search results will be anti.
You only need bleach to cover up evidence.
The Ecksian solution will be writ large, publicized and documented that future uppity politicians and bureaucrats might think twice about their totalitarian little schemes.
Might need some JCB’s a fair amount of acreage and a fair few metric tonnes of quicklime though. The lead traitors heads to be displayed on spikes in Parliament Square. Still, piano wire is plentiful and London has lots of lamp posts.
