Ghislaine Maxwell ‘may be a victim too’, suggests judge deciding whether to unseal tranche of secret documents

We expect her lawyer to be saying this but the judge?

  1. Judge Sullivan in Gen Flynn’s case has ruined his reputation by going to extraordinary lengths in refusing to dismiss the case. This effectively keeps Gen Flynn from spilling the beans on Obama’s Iran deal inter alia. Is he being blackmailed? An awful lot of rich famous and politically connected went to Epstein Island, just maybe might they lean on the judge?

  2. @Ljh – That does make some sense, especially with the Clinton Crime Family involved as deeply as they are. Presumably by making Ghislaine Maxwell into a ‘victim’ they can either exclude her from testifying about the events that went on during their stay on Pedo Island.

Assuming there was wall-to-wall video of what went on their as is alleged then Billy boy and others will go to extreme lengths to stop that coming out.

By keeping silent for the present time Ms. Maxwell retains her options, but unless the charges get substantially reduced or taken off the table she’ll have to cough up the goods at some point. I presume that she will give them time to get there fix in under threat of exposure in court.

Then again, I think her chances of actually making it into a court room are about 3-to-1 against. Too easy for her to get shanked by another inmate during prisoner transfers or such like (she’s currently in isolation). I doubt they would do an Epstein. That would push suspicion a bit too far.

  3. @Andrew C: I was rather underwhelmed by the Tallboy explosion. I’d have thought that it would be a lot bigger. Unless the water is pretty deep at that point?

  4. @Jim – Considering the bomb has been at the bottom of the lake for 75 years and the explosives were (presumably) significantly degraded, I thought the explosion was quite satisfying.

  5. They should have taken that bomb back for a refund. It didn’t go off as intended, and it apparently didn’t penetrate very deep either, as it should have.

One story I heard was that they went after his son along the lines of admit X and we’ll leave you’re son and his family alone.

A quick DDG – this wasn’t the original story I heard but its close enough: https://thehill.com/opinion/judiciary/495366-something-seems-rotten-in-flynns-case-and-maybe-others-too

  7. Judge anticipates possible D victory in upcoming elections, says things that might encourage Ds to promote her. Film at 11.
