The tasks Joe Biden faces: from racial justice to restoring faith in science

The only type of scientific theory that will be applied to racial justice will be critical theory. That is, you know, not science.

  1. Faith is religion; science is scepticism and falsifiable empirical evidence.

This is the very opposite of Faith.

‘Restoring faith in science’ is code for obedience to our rulers and high priests.

  2. It’s surreal. The lamestream media is talking about Biden as if he is Kennedy (or rather the image of Kennedy that has been cultivated over the decades, not the real man): Christ come to cleanse the temple. The healer, the messiah, the saviour!

OK, his sort of puerile hyperbole is pretty much par for the course, but Biden can hardly string a coherent sentence together!

Genuine question for any Americans and the US constitutional experts out there. A US president is, in effect, an elected monarch with some distinctly monarchical powers. If he is simply not capable – as Beijing bedshitter Biden clearly isn’t – who is the regent and how do they act. Camel toe horseface presumably. But, given the facade that they have to maintain, how is this done.

And which of the insane factions within the democrats will state the obvious first?

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. -H. L. Mencken

The people have chosen. As events unfold over the next few years I am sure I will have more than one opportunity to remind people that Joe Biden is what they wanted.

  4. @BiND

    Much obliged.

Just wonder how long the pretence will be maintained.

Biden ain’t there yet though and if he does manage it, can the lunatic fringes of the Democrats (is that all of them?) get rid of him in a plausible sounding way or will they not be able to help themselves.

  5. Dennis, Striking A Thoughtful Pose

The best response to liberals who spout about science is to point out to them that science proves that life begins at conception, therefore human life begins at conception, and therefore abortion is premeditated murder. That usually gets them moving to a different subject rather quickly.

  6. Biden faces an uphill battle to tackle an escalating climate crisis that has been either ignored or actively worsened under the Trump administration. Scientists and climate activists have at least been heartened by Biden’s belated ambition to address what he calls an “existential threat” to the US. “The wrath of climate change is here, now, in America,” Biden said in the wake of a year wracked by record wildfires and storms.

No science there. There is no climate crisis and there have been no record wildfires or storms in 2020.

Just wonder how long the pretence will be maintained.

It will be maintained as long as it is useful.

  8. I’ve seen a bunch of lists of the seriously important issues Biden has to address. These include climate, race, foreign policy, healing the nation, defending democracy, blah, blah ,blah.

What is utterly symptomatic of the extent to which political conversations have dropped into the bin is that the single biggest crisis facing the USA is not on any such list, was not covered at all in the election, and nor is it on any media outlet, ever. What hope that nation or others if the thing that will kill them is ignored? And I’m not talking about Islam.

I’m talking about public finances and the Dollar. The USA is on a short trip to bankruptcy. The deficit is beyond crazy. They’ve just given up. (as have we). But the financial grim reaper will still come for his take. The West is fucked. The GFC is going to look like the good old days when the ‘everything bubble’ inevitably pops. It’s a toss up if it’s a cultural or financial meltdown that will get us first.

  9. JGH: The descent into financial madness, central bank balance sheet explosions and currency collapse all took off bigly in 1971…

  10. If the extreme factions of the Democrat party gain any traction within the DOJ and FBI they will only have to mention the Hunter emails while President Joe is awake and functioning to cause him to rapidly consider his position and resign in favour of Kamala.

For this reason Pelosi, Jarrett and the rest of the real power-brokers will have to be very careful about his/their appointments.

The USA is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic. Given the electoral shenanigans surrounding voter registration and stuffed ballots perhaps the USA is more of a constitutional banana republic.

  12. Dennis, You Know... The Rational One

    Henry –

Address your pendantry to Mr. Menchken. That he’s dead simply means his interest level will match mine.

With regards to the banana republican thing, well, I’m not a whiny bitch. We have allegations at this stage of the game. Until those allegations turn into evidence, and that evidence is deemed to have materially effected the results of the election in a court of law, I’m going to act like an adult about it. How you choose to act is your business.

  13. perhaps the USA is more of a constitutional banana republic.

Luxury Gay Western Roman Empire, surely?

Lucius Domitius Aurelianus did nothing wrong.

No science there. There is no climate crisis and there have been no record wildfires or storms in 2020.

But the BBC informs a record number of Atlantic storms have been given names?

  15. Why do these racist, pasty-white meteorologists not give hurricanes diverse and vibrant names, such as Quantravious, Fu-Manchu, and Muhammad?

  16. If the world a to be rid of CO² emissions by 2032, the conquest of China becomes an urgent necessity. A policy likely popular in the Pentagon.
Actually the Dems have restricted themselves to Orange Man bad because they agree on nothing else. Whatever Biden/Harris commit to will alienate some part of their support.

  17. My main thought is once Trump realised how screwed the economy is over Covid he’ll be quite happy to take the narrow loss as it’s going to be difficult to do anything major the next few years. Even with the prospect of a vaccine we are talking about 6 to 12 months to get back to some normalcy and for some areas like home working the genie is out of the bottle and downtown commercial real estate and coffee shops etc are likely looking at a permanent reduction in capacity

  18. “. . life begins at conception, therefore human life begins at conception . .”
This kind of begs the question: what does human life mean and what does it mean to be human. Are we the only species capable of love, and even if we are the only ones out there capable of love and its consequence commitment for 18 or 21 years of nurturing (is there any species willing to commit more?) there are many still in the position of the philosophic rock band Foreigner wanting to know.
In the advanced voting economies we’ve sort of converged on 20 weeks or so as some sort of cut off point between biological life and human life.

  19. Dennis, Tiresome Denizen of Central Ohio

In the advanced voting economies we’ve sort of converged on 20 weeks or so as some sort of cut off point between biological life and human life.

Which is a matter of convenience, not science.

  20. Gold bugs need to remember that the gold standard tends to coincide with a ban on the private ownership of gold.

  21. Plenty of real evidence, sworn affidavits, observations, and more. Plus some highly relevant statistical analysis of patterns in the votes, plus the rather amusing case of some 23,000 odd postal votes that were actually returned filled in (99.9% for Joe natch) at a time and date prior to their recorded mail out. Which is a great trick if you can manage it.

If by some outside chance you were somewhat adult about it Denise, you might consider actually looking at the evidence instead of dismissing it.

Dennis, He Who Refuses To Be A Whiny Bitch

Being ignorant, I researched (fancy name for googled) H L Menken. Second quote that popped out was ‘On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.’

  23. Just wonder how long the pretence will be maintained. Biden ain’t there yet though and if he does manage it, can the lunatic fringes of the Democrats (is that all of them?) get rid of him in a plausible sounding way or will they not be able to help themselves.

If I was Kamala Harris then I’d want Sleepy Joe Biden to be in nominal power for 2 years and 1 day before consigning him to the nursing home for the criminally corrupt that he should already be inhabiting. That way, she can look forward (in her mind at least) to the remaining 2 years of the “Harris Administration under President Joe Biden” and 2 terms as president in her own right.

Not that this will happen in reality though, since Kamala Harris is as incompetent as she is corrupt and her entire existence on the ticket was based upon a throw-away commitment that I’m sure Sleepy Joe regrets (when he can actually remember making it).

His wife Jill seems to be the one pulling the puppet strings, so no doubt she will get her and Sleepy Joe settled in the Whitehouse and then get Kamala to fall on her sword when she commits the inevitable act of incompetence that justifies firing her. Then a more amenable and maleable Veep can be selected who is less of a threat or can be controlled through knowledge of corruption.

It’s always good to know where the bodies are buried as the Clinton Crime Family has demonstrated all too well.

  24. @ Pat:

” Actually the Dems have restricted themselves to Orange Man bad because they agree on nothing else.”

As Steve Sailer has pointed out many times, the only thing that unites the Dems is ‘ White Man Bad’.

  25. @John Galt: it is not within the Prez’s power to sack the VP. They’d need to resort to blackmail or coercion.

  26. for some areas like home working the genie is out of the bottle and downtown commercial real estate and coffee shops etc are likely looking at a permanent reduction in capacity

I saw a recent UK survey suggesting that only 8% of office workers expect to resume a 9-5 5-day commute once the Covid dust has settled. It wouldn’t surprise me one little bit, but what does surprise me (though perhaps it shouldn’t) is that central government has not woken up to this obvious fact and is still (e.g.) pouring billions into the gaping money pit that is HS2.

  27. Joe Biden is a good decent man. He won the American election fair and square.
Trump is being a sore loser, for refusing to concede.
Trump needs to grow up and act like a big man.
Imagine how every tin pot dictator will react with Trump claiming the election is fixed.
Every tyrant and despot can hold an election and then claim the result was fixed if he or she loses.
Biden is a good honest decent man, who will make a decent president.

  28. Joe Biden is a good decent man.

Nope. He’s a corrupt member of the establishment who has used his position as VP to enrich himself via his family connections in Ukraine and China.

He won the American election fair and square.

Nope. He is trying to steal the election through a combination of voter fraud and bluff.

Trump is being a sore loser, for refusing to concede.

Trump is refusing to concede to voter fraud and bluff. Whether he will actually win in the end remains to be seen. It is a long time until the inauguration.

Trump needs to grow up and act like a big man.

He’s doing just fine, staying the course against his corrupt enemies.

Imagine how every tin pot dictator will react with Trump claiming the election is fixed.

The only “Tin pot dictator” at the moment is Biden, claiming an election that hasn’t been declared either free and clear or in his favour.

Every tyrant and despot can hold an election and then claim the result was fixed if he or she loses.

    Pure projection.

Biden is a good honest decent man, who will make a decent president.

Biden is as tainted as anyone who has spent nearly 50 years as part of the establishment and achieved nothing.

That you have to come on here, unwanted, unheard of and unasked to platform your propaganda shows the weakness of his position and your character.
