Any elderly Justices on SCOTUS who view themselves a conservatives should retire pronto so that their replacements are in the hands of Trump and the Senate.
@dearieme
Won’t matter – I expect Kamala to appoint 10 additional justices in January 🙁
A Republican senate will create gridlock for Biden – as was the case for Obama. The deficit will continue to go unfixed. Buy gold. The dollar is fucked, but just doesn’t know it yet.
(and, by the way, fucked under Trump too as his financial metric is the stockmarket. The scale of unrepayable US debt has ballooned to proportions I can’t decide if it’s sad or comical)
@Chris- she can’t, that’s the point. The Republicans control the Senate.
On second thoughts: maybe they are just predicted to hold the Senate. But if they don’t there would be no point in the old coves retiring.
Markets rallying due to the stimulus coming soon, which the senate won’t block as they will the tax rises. Size of the stimulus smaller than Dems would wish. Senate not keen on bailing out huge debts which cities took unrelated to the chinese virus bollocks.

Anthony Davis on the FEE Words & Numbers podcast calculates the that the US will run out of borrowing room by 2027/8 and will have to go to that old standby of letting inflation rip, and that’s before any new stimulus packages.
On third thoughts: when does the new Senate take over from the old? If it’s January there’s still time for the Justicesmaneouvre even if the Dems will hold the new Senate.
